I am shocked and appauled to see the amount of e-mail sharring going on in the irc channel. People have been voluntarily giving out other members e-mails and trying to pass them as their own. Jokingly or not this accomplishes one thing, it sets the focus on that e-mail and sets it up for spam. I consider this to be one of the more vile forms of disrespect and am even more disgusted when i think about the e-mail i see the most. How would you feel if you mapped for a community of strangers and all they do in return is spam your e-mail in irc as their own. You have no right unless you show a note handwritten from virtue explaining why he has given you the right to say his e-mail is your own. I was even more shocked to see that when i tryed to deter this behaivior, it was said by another student that it was indeed wrong unless of course you use Virtue's. Whether it was a joke or not some people don't find it funny. I have a very low view of thoes who participate in this act. It shows one thing, they are not trustworthy at all. you should be ashamed. yeah this seems pretty familiar, since I received stuff like: "thanks for subscribing to our service!" This wasn't just spam, it was more official (not sure if it's the right word to describe it) Anyway, don't use someone else's e-mail address unless you have permission to do so ... I would like to point out the fact that Spamming someone's E-mail around, is a violation of privacy. If someone want's his (using he as example here since typing he/she all the time gets annoying) E-mail to be known to everyone, he will put it on his profile. If someone were to spam my E-mail around on IRC I would be extremely pissed off. To give an example on what I do all the time: If someone asks me, Hey whats [person's] E-mail. I always reply with: Its probably on his profile, if not, then I can't help you with it  .Bare in mind that when someone gives you his e-mail, he trusts you with it... I am sorry I jokingly said it was ok to pretend Virtues email is your mothers. I am ashamed now, even though I didn't mean it seriously at the time, I see that I should have immediately made it clear that passing out anybodies email that is not your own is not ok.
