State of Play One Seizing the opportunity to blast the Rodian who had just dropped down while he was in the open, Shaan began shooting of full auto-fire mode. His shots went wide as the Rodian darted to the left and right of this particular section of Mainframe maintenance corridor. The Rodian reach down in what he thought was a pause to retrieve the blaster pistol that he had clumsily dropped from above and as he lent over received a full volley of energy directly into his head. He was blasted back about a metre and crumpled to the floor. Quesi came to, recovered his blaster and hid around the corner of the doorway just in case the Rodian who could still be heard whimpering over his severely damaged leg could be heard. He hopped he was fully out of sight. Straining Belain picked up a whisper that was slightly louder than intended. “NO! We are not leaving until that download is finished, its already on 85%, we wait!” It was not over yet, the thugs meant to delay them may have been dealt with, and the type of data might have been discovered. But unless they could recover from their injured state the criminals would still make off with the stolen data. I’m not sure how long it will last it depends on the Adventure, max 2-3 hours.New players are welcome! You will not need to have anything (no books etc. required) to play nor to know any rules. I will explain them as we play, though if you enjoy the game getting the core-rulebook would probably be a good idea. Yes there is life points (wound points and vitality points (WP, VP) actually) but thats not all there is quite alot we will need to do to prepare for play but dont worrie about it. As long as you have a general idea of the character you want to be thats fine. If you are stuck for ideas just pick a character from the movies and give him a few works. sure aiming for 9pm then Please come with a general idea for your character (Guy really good with dual blasters, Spaceship piloting wookie, Jedi Guardian Twi'lek, etc.etc.) Feel free to ask to be games master, If noone else does want to be games master then be aware that i wont allow too many jedi so if you planning for jedi bring a second idea with you too. It is possible to be certain types of droids. Thanks for covering the IRC details sete. As for extra books i personaly don't have any... however if you would like to game master then you could obvioucly use them. Alternativly as long as you tell me all the rules relating to something you want to use then you can use it (Assuming i don't say "hell no thats completly bodged up )Ok guys, just to get this started im gunna say how about firdays at 10pm gmt (no DLS [is that still an issue?]). Well four is enough to play, we can add more people as they want to join... Next question IRC or forum? With a forum we will be able to have players from anywhere (no time zone issues). But IRC meetings would be alot more manageable and alot faster! Oh right so you want me to describe what "The Star wars role playing game by Wizards of the coast... " is actualy like... hmmm, any help here would be nice ither players but ill have a go. Firstly if you have played dungeons and dragons, then this is dungeons and dragons star-wars style. If you don't know what dungeons and dragons is like ... ill get back to you Edit: Star Wars: Blasters, X-wings, Lightsabres, the force. Space fantasy at its best, full of action adventure and a sense of wonder. Role playing game: A game of the imagination where you tell a story by taking on the roles of the main characters. Put those together cross your fingers and hope for the best Basically. Some one is the Games master (GM) (me or someone else if you would like to). They create an adventure and tell the story describe the action and make rulings about what is and is not possible. The other players are dumped right into the middle of that story and have to complete missions and objectives to advance, gaining more power and the ability to do more complex and important tasks. There is a whole system of rules created based mostly on rolls of a 20-sided dice (d20 system) and each roll is modified up or down depending on how favourable or unfavourable conditions are. If the modified result beats the target difficulty set by the GM.
