The murder on Theo van Gogh,
well I can't say I loved the guy, but he sure didn't deserve this.
What I am concerned about is the anti-muslim atmosphere that is beginning to set in Holland, this is definately not good.

This may sound very harsh, but this is partly just
not in their culture. For Muslims honor is something
far more important than it is to a christian
(note that I'm generalising extremely here).
Therefore a Muslim will go to extreme methods
earlier...

At the moment Holland is quite chaotic, both
churches and mosks are being set on fire and
there is this overall sense of fear between
the two ethical groups, while there aren't so
many differences.
I know that it is not in their culture... But, how did it come out that honour is so important for Muslims? There must be a historical reason, or something, otherwise I think all religions would be (that) violent.

But, we must give in... his opinion didn't show a sign of respect for the Muslim-community at all.

His opinion was not particular against muslims.
He just made fun of everything there was, he
said what he wanted to. If you would take every
word of him he would hate Christians, Jews, Gays,
Women, Men, Muslims, etc., etc.
Yes, indeed, but I think he could have known Muslims would take his opinion more serious... they don't like critic at all. But, he thought, Oh I'm just a normal country-side Dutch boy, they will never kill me, and that thought turned out to be totally wrong...
He had also received threathening letters, so I think if he would, he could have proctected himself against being killed.

Dude, your dad kills a journalist where you live and I say, well his family is good for nothink.

dont judge a community by one man.

But those who change their personal beliefs into a form of terrorism deserve no respect and i say, shoot em where they stand, no matter what they are, muslim, jew, catholic, black or white, short or tall, man or women, as a figure of speach then.

If we act like they do and kill, are whe still better as they are?

I think the fact that he was SHOT for his opinions shows that the Muslim community deserve no respect. I was actually stabbed a couple of years ago by a Muslim (My sister-in-law's brother) because my sister-in-law's family didn't like the idea of her marrying a Christian, my eldest brother. How -I- came into all of this, and got stabbed for it, I don't know, but that basically proves the whole thing.

It is really terrible he's shot just because he said his opinion.
But, we must give in... his opinion didn't show a sign of respect for the Muslim-community at all. By moments he was just too mean or too respectless. I don't think that's right too, but of course the muslim-fundamentalists mustn't shot you, just 'cause you've said your (extreme) opinion about them.
What Theo Van Gogh did wasn't totally right, but he did nothing "really" wrong, he just insulted them. And, some Muslims didn't accept that... so they shot him. Is that the right way to do? Don't think so. Why haven't they started a chat with him or something like that?
