Not exactly in-game problems, however, due to the range of people within the academy I was hoping one of you may be able to help me with a little problem.
I'm having to run my computer through a proxy to connect to the internet.. and as such, I'm unable to connect to any of the JKA online servers at all. Unfortunatly I have no other way to connect to the net, so removing the proxy isn't a viable option so any other ideas would be graciously recieved as I can't play anyone on JKA atm... *sob*.

Thanks in advance...

not according to the sruff that came on my cd...

Try running a dedicated server, opening the game, clicking Join Server, changing the Source to 'Local' and checking the server information of your server. The port should be 29070. :)

Well I'm using a program called SocksCap, which allows you to use UDP through Socks5, it let's me play certain games online, though it needs a specific command line to execute it.

IE - for one game I play, Ragnarok online, the base .exe file is ragexe.exe, though to run it the extra command 1rag1 is needed... so I'm not sure if JKA needs an extra command such as that. Unfortunatly, I'm not sure what the 1rag1 command actually allows.

Will get back to you all and myself when I figure this out... :S

also note that most proxies do NOT allow UDP connections. You'll need to run SOCKS5 to proxy UDP (which JK:JA and any Quake3 based game uses).

Figuring out how to run JK:JA (JK3) through a proxy would help many of our members out (including JaikoD'kana, Mena, Moridin, and many others). If anyone wants to work on solving this issue, I know it would be very much appreciated.

arg, well the specific UDP ports that Jedi Academy uses are 28060, 28061, 28062, and 28070 through 28081 (inclusive.)

Yeah go to yahoo or the JA readme and look for the ports which JA runs on. Then go to your proxy setup and open the ports on which JA runs. It can be a pain, but I had the same problem...

is this just with JA or all games? make sure that the proxy is configured so that the windows and regular firewall allow traffic from JA

Well, some people can play JK:JA through a proxy, I think.

I don't know much about them, but if there's a way to allow you to connect to a Server? Like, have it open the Game's required ports?

If you haven't already, try taking a look at the trouble file (C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\Install\trouble.rtf).
