I just downloaded the latest Mandrake 10.1 and am getting ready to burn the CDs to upgrade my system. Now if all goes well, then I will be up and running again in a couple of hours. Okay, something has gone horribly awry with my PC, and I'm not sure where exactly. I hooked up an Epson CX6400 printer to it, and I've discovered that Mandrake 10.1 supports it fully, so I tried to install. The sticking point was that I didn't even get past burning the ISOs to CD...got a "no disk/wrong disk" error...and I've burned CDs on my box without a hitch before. No idea what's changed since. Anyway, now when I try to mount the CD, only the root user can read it. I'm not playing JA logged in as root user, so I might be out of the action for a few more days than I thought I would be.
