I have been with the Academy for well over a year now and LOVE it. I try to get on regularly but It's Probaly not enough to become a Knight.
I was wondering if and what clans are out there and how I could get info on them and possibly joining.

I see it's time for my quote again.

What you know will help you stay ahead once you are there."

I was a knight and had no master (look how that turned out :P) but I definately agree that a master helps. You say its about your personality and how you act and stuff right? Well padawans are chosen to be padawans because they act appropriately, so yeah you could call it coincidence...

I wouldn't say that there isn't a difference. People who have a master DO have an advantage. Completely personalised training IS a more efficient way of unlocking your potential, AND it places you in a situation where you will be in constant view of a JAK+, where they will be more likely to notice you as "Knight material". It seems fair enough to me, though. The JAK+ can't completely prevent it, either. May as well just go with the flow. But if it helps, I never really had a lasting JA master, nor did many other people who, like myself, became JAT's or JAK's without being "bred" for the job by an official JA master.

That may have been true before Monteee, but as of late the JAK+ have been trying to look at people who don't have masters just as equally. It's simply mere coincidence that the one's everyone agrees upon have masters. We don't even take into account that they are padawans unless someone brings it up. It's always about your character and skill to begin with. :)

thats BS lol, i been JAK/JAT, most jat only recommend people they know and they are bound to know padawans better. They also take advice from the more active JAK who also have Padawans,

U might not NEED a master but it certinly helps :P

last I looked, having a master was not a requirement for JAK. just thought I'd point that out.

No worries guys, we're not saying Vasper did anything wrong here, we're just reminding those who might reply not to do any recruiting in our forums. We want to be helpful to Vasper and let everyone contribute their knowledge to help him, but we don't want this to be an open invitation to clan recruiting going on.

Aight we're all on the same page now, carry on. :D

And Merry Christmas!!!! :D

No no, Vasper, it's alright. And KrEeP, you took what Jaiko and I were saying entirely wrong. We're merely reminding you guys not to start recruiting in this thread. That's all. And there is a fine line between recruitment and directing someone to clan websites.

Btw, all of those groups you listed KrEeP, they are merely groups. There is a difference beween those and clans. For example, a bunch of us decided to start a group like the JA Aurochs, except for Counterstrike. So we named it ja.cs, for Jedi Academy Counterstrike. But we aren't a clan. Just a group of JA members having fun, playing CS. :)

hmmm. Correct me if I'm wrong but in the Jedi Oder were there not clans? Clan Bear? Clan Saber?
I'm not asking or wanting for clan info outside the JA but within. Just a group of friends that take a name for themselves. I'm sorry if this is breaking the rules. That wasn't my intention. I know my lack of time and Master prohibits me from becoming a Knight. So I thought I'd look for another lvl of involvement. I appologize.

Omg I think this is way harsh!! Its like not a threads been made saying:

"JOIN THIS UBER L337 clan!!!"

He's just asking of a way to get further involved with the community and asking for our assistance, I would have thought that was our PRIMARY duty, to help people, not turn them away because the word 'clan' is mentioned.

What the hell do you call the other groups that have started through this place? Lemme run a list off my memory...

People who play bf1942
Quake 3 players
People who are religious
Anime discussion
Roleplaying groups

Are these not clans of a sort? If someone wants to join a group of people we should encourage it, it jsut so happens in this case that the guy wants to meet up with people who play the games we play here, thats not wrong.

Basically my view = recruiting on here is wrong, this is not recruiting, this is asking for info.

In response to the original post (I'm gonna help this guy, screw you :P)try clanbase or something like that or check out the ladders for the different gametypes, that'll give you an idea of what clans play what stuff. Hope this helps.

No, this is against the rules. Asking to be recruited into a clan is the same thing as recruiting, especially if clan leaders start responding.
