Ah yes... denser light. C'mon people, speak English here!  Seriously, the intensity of light only has to do with colour and brightness. Well, strength means structural integrity, or in this case, the "intensity/density of the beam." You do know, light comes in different intensities. Perhaps a certain crystal could create a denser beam of light, and that would allow harder hits when hitting another lightsaber. _______________ "To become a greater man, you must be a lesser one first." |

What do you people even mean by 'strength'? All the lightsaber is is a beam of coherent energy and light that emits heat when it touches things... it's no stronger or weaker than whomever wields it. Obviously, colour does not determine the strength of the blade, the crystal does, because of one point. Red has a much longer wavelength, but it is considered to be slightly stronger than the other colours. So, the colour cannot mean anything, nor does the light, nor does any natural science. Obviously, the colour is just a by-product of the crystal, therefore, so I suppose that means a black blade wouldn't be more powerful, unless the crystal itself is. _______________ "To become a greater man, you must be a lesser one first." |

THats preference but seeing as blades come from different crystals it means that there could be stronger blades and a stornger Jedi, doesn't always mean that they have a stronger blade but it could mean that they took an extensive amount of time finding a strong crystal :p _______________ Rawr.

Purple. It is a color that represent a little more my gender and also is the color that Mara Jade used for her lightsaber and she is my favorite SW character. |

I like the Blue lightsaber the best. It resembles a jedi guardian. I used to be on the Dark Jedi Brotherhood site. I was a Sith padawan i was learning the ways of the dark side. my master on the site gave me a red lightsaber i didn't reallt like it cause it resembled evil. I did learn some dark jedi powers like force crush,choke, and the best of all... Force lightning. But now i am a guardian of peace and light. So i really liked the blue lightsaber cause it is really nice. |

I think the idea of adding crystals is just fantasy, it takes days of focused meditation to shape the crystal perfectly when crafting a saber, so just being able to pop in a new crystal seems a bit convenient. _______________ "You might find that smoke blown out clears the mind of shadows within." |

According to the fully authoritative and Lucas-approved Star Wars visual dictionary book-type thingy, red crystals are actually synthetic ones that the Sith learned to make long ago. Apparently they're slightly more powerful, and some have other bonuses as well. Jedi prefer natural crystals. _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. |

When I used to play the Star Wars RPG blade color was determined by crystal color. Intesity/strength of the blade were determined by the quality of the crystal. Blade length is determined by the size of the crystal. At the time the crystals were believed to be about the size of a walnut before being cut into the appropriate shape for lightsaber use. In the RPG, the way we played may differ from others of course, it was desired to have a blue or green blade since they are considered to be of the highest quality over all. Red is equally powerful but the Jedi remain unaware of where the "red" crystals originate from. It was believed that only a small amount of red crystals exist and they are guarded by the Sith. I read this somewhere but I dont know where. Blue/Green - Light side colors Yellow/Orange - Nuetral Colors used by either Sith or Jedi Red - Dark Side I also remeber purple being left out of the article.
