Best bit without a doubt is when after the ents have raided isenguard and one has been set of fire. Then after the dam is broken you see him run towards the water and dunk his head in. Brilliant ! slightly more seriously though, green dragon drinking song , even more seriously , I liked the elves arriving at helms deep. Another one of my favorite scenes is in rotk when aragon, legolas and gimli are fighting on pelenor. Legolas takes out an oliphant and gimli tells him that only counts as one in their game. |

Gotta love the "Mouth". Although I think that killing him was taking to much dramatic license. They had done pretty well up to ROTK with keeping to the book (as well as they could possibly do). But as cool as Sarumaun's death was in the movie, I think they owed it to fans to do the Scouring of the Shire. True fans will keep their butts in their seats to watch that play out. No, Raider... in the book he shows them three things: the chainmail, an elven cloak, and Sam's sword... and it's not the Black Lieutenant of Mordor; it's the Mouth of Sauron, the Black Lieutenant of the Tower of Barad-dûr. Mine is when the falmeing dude just ran out teh building and jumped of a cliff all dramatic like, i dunno just didnt seem like something a normal person would do so I had to laugh at him... My favourite part is only in the extended edition. I really liked the Voice of Sauron/The Messenger There's no way they could have made that scene work in the movie. WHen you read it, you have no idea what has become of Frodo and Sam. The story was following Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli at the time. The Messenger shows them Frodo's chainmail and something else of Frodo's (I can't remember what it was). He then goes on to tell them that Frodo has been killed and he suffered alot. But even after hearing this, they still fight against Mordor. It's a really great part in the book, but again, it just couldn't work in the movie. |
