OK i thought it would be fun if there would be a monthly tournament at the JA.
Everyone can enter no matter what there rank is but u need to enroll so that we can see how many people are going to play in the tournment.
There will be a ranked division, meaning that all the knights fight each other and all the j-man that way we wont get initiate vs councilmember fights. Offcourse after the tournament u are free to duel anyone u like also knights and trainers etc.In order to become first in your dividion or stay first u will need to train harder each month to get better in the list. That way people will become better to so they will pass trials etc faster and thats funner for everyone. And then people have something other to train for then trials alone. Plz tell me what u think of it so that maybe this will be aproved by the JAC.

thnx [M0H]DARtHMAUL

btw: plz people dont when ur first in ur division dont look down on people that are lower then u else we will have all sort of ego's wandering the JA.

yo DvD once a week is way to often
Lets keep it at once every 3 or 4 months.
If everything goes well we can make it more often.
But remember it takes a lot of planning and organising. So be patient:P

Jacen to get back on ur comment, after the tournament there will be time to fight anyone u like so also JAC,JAK and JAT. But during the tourney i dont think it would be very fair and maybe some people dont want to fight the JAC. But after it feel free to duel the JAC and kick there ass!! :P:D:P

Well i dont think thats such a good idea because then they would know the passwords and IP's from all our servers and those servers are for JA members only!

Hell, yeah, that'd be great! "JA Olympics"...man, just imagine the degree of battle there'd be! If this does get off the ground, count me in, even if I do get my arse kicked in the first round, hehe...btw, maybe we could also invite "certain" Jedi from other servers or academies to see how they fare. (and when I say "certain" i mean, very good and full of potential). It's be like JA versus another academy almost!

tournaments are cool. Just make sure you organise the heck out of em. Before I put my stamp on it I'd need to see a detailed plan of the tournament with EVERY case taken care of. :)

I love tournaments, they are a lot oF FUN as long as we have some people that are really dedicated and know what they're doing so they can keep order and everything goes smoothly. Count me in ;)

Yep.. tournaments are fun and a good idea. But giving out points to winners is not. That's because, first of all, the winners will probably be the same people every time. And secondly, points are for classes and progress via training, not for achievement.

i also like acey's idea of a JA olympics... but perhaps that's what Zero is planning for us :)

so i say.. let's wait and see what zero's tourney will offer us. after that, maybe we can organize more frequent tourneys or "olympics", but just for fun, no rewards... other than fame and recognition of course :P

Yo acey i think that your idea is better seeming no one really like the tournament idea very much and zero is giving a tournament for the aneversary of the academy i think its best we do it something more like u said it.
Now we have 5 servers we could have a JA Olympics that each server has his one game like the main server is FFA, the CTF server is CTF, the facility server is TEAM FFA etc.
That seems nice to and then there will be a winner in each game division (in games as CTF and TEAM FFA that will be a team) and that way u dont do it only for u to win but for the enteir team.
An maybe thew JAC can come up with some sort of a prize for the winners .
Well place a comment a say with u think of this idea or u can still comment about the tournament thing but well nobody likes it very much, so see what u do with it.
:(

oh oh oh...and i've also developed more games for it..perhaps it doesn't have to be a Tournament, but more of a JA Olympics. with various events, like like normal Duels, FF Duels, Teams Duels, Team Vs 1 Duels (i like those ones), and various other games..( i kinda had an idea for a DFA long jump..gotta fix it up though). plus i got rules for most of the games and such...and maybe then Storm Soccer might hit it off..oh well..we'll just see what happens then..

No offense or anything about what you've talked about. Yeah tournaments can be fun and all that, and its nice to have somewhat of an incentive to win. We have had tournaments here before. The last one for students was back around thanksgiving, when most people had breaks from work and school so its easier to attend. At least for those of us in the US anyways. There was a JAK and above tournament around christmas time, so we've kind of been doing tourneys every few months. But as for a comment you made about it being nice to train for something other than trials. I'm not training for the trials. I'm playing/training to learn more about the game and ways to beat people. If what I learn happens to be in the trials so be it. I think you chose poorly in your example of what you are training for.

i agree that once a moth is to often ill change it to once in the 3 or 4 months (the JAC can descide that) If the same person wins 3 times in a row he could think about contesting one rank above his just for the tournament offcourse and see how good he does there. That would solve the problem. About the point system yes i think its a bit unfair so ill let the JAC descide what to do with the points.

First thing, funner is not a word :)

Giving points out may seem like a good idea, but then it encourages people who don't know much but who are good fighters (there aren't many but hey)to get to th higher ranks, over the people that have worked really hard, taking time out to go to classes. Still reckon the curriculum is a better idea.......

Perhaps once a month is a bit often. It won't feel as special if you won, if it was every single month, what about every 2 or 4 months, that way its easier to organize, there'd be more time in between to train, it'd feel better if you won, people could schedule and organize their time better enabling them to attend.

A bit of friendly competition is never a bad thing as it makes people push the level that one bit higher and improve. As long as, like you said, it does become ego mania it sounds like a top notch idea :P

Just thought, what about people that win it over and over, that kinda makes it unfair. I know its not all about skill or whatever but we do have some 'ub3r l337' duelists here, and if the same people always win it'll be a bit disheartening.

Yes fiZZ thats a great idea, about the point system. The one thats ranked first gets 1 point.
That way people that cant attend classes have a way to score points too
