New box...reinstalled JK3.

I am getting this error signature before the game loads...

AppName: jamp.exe AppVer: 1.0.1.0 ModName: sisgl.dll
ModVer: 6.14.10.3630 Offset: 000cf884

I have rebooted, tried again, and uninstalled & reinstalled.

you probably have out of date gfx drives, that above quote signifies it has a problem with the OpenGL drivers for your GFX card.

and Fizze, yes it does use DirectX for Input.

well, like I said, there is no info on the sis site about OpenGL support for the SiS760 series.

so just deactivate ur onboard gfx and stick with the old gfx card.

I played it on a fresh win2000 install with just gfx drivers. there was DX7 or 8, i donno. but not 9, which JK3 claims to need during install.

of course installer refused to run, but it worked fine when i started jamp manually.
Maybe its just the standard Raven installer, what do I know.

Because the installer is retarded.
You all know the infamous "Unable to initialize OpenGL subsystem" error, dont you ? ;)

It may use parts of the DirectX framework (orion ?) but it definetly does not use Direct3D. anywho.

Ian: does SP work ? I guess not. and you dont have to reinstall the game when u reinstall windoze. just execute the JASP/JAMP exe manually thru explorer, or the likes.

ok, now in all calm: you seem to have a SiS chipset/mainboard. These are well known to have problems with OpenGL games. Try to grab the newest graphics driver from SiS or whatever your OEM is. But I doubt there is decent OpenGL support.

Is this a notebook you are talking about ?

That could be part of the problem, nonetheless, update your DirectX drivers and your motherboard drivers, see if that fixes it.

It's not the patch, it's the MP console. Make sure you have the latest DirectX drivers, and make sure your video card drivers are up to date too. Whenever I got that problem, those always fixed it. However, It could very well be a different error than what I had, so give the driver updates a try first. If that doesn't work, let us know. :)
