Every now and again a JAK+ thinks up a new idea for a class, asks if anyone would be interested on this forum, gets many “Yes we would be interested” replies, and makes a new class. I was thinking … Why wait? Why wait for them to suggest a class before letting them know we would be interested in it. Why don’t WE let them know the sorts of class that we would be interested in originally? There must be at least one or two JAK+ with enough spare time to host one or two classes and they just don’t know what sort of classes the student masses would like. Instead of thinking one up and asking if we like it, they could look through this post to see a list of class requests that we would like. Obviously they could still suggest classes we hadn’t though of. Very weird and wonderful ones I’m sure, but this could make the job of those who have spare time but cannot think of a class to even suggest easier. Rules: 1) Check to make sure there isn’t already the class you are looking for at a convenient time. 2) Rather than “The Flying Blue Balloon Class” “Blue aerial class” would be fine  … Let’s let the trainers have the fun of thinking up their own crazy names  3) Suggesting a time would be a good idea (Any time zone, but GMT as well please). This is especially important if you are suggesting an already existing class is put on at a different time. 4) No suggesting trainers. How would you feel if you were holding an “uber-odd spinney class” and someone suggests one be put on by a different trainer? This could also be an easy way for the trainers to see how much interest there is for different classes also. If 40 students all want a “How to blow up trees” class, then some trainer is bound to be kind enough to host one. Please limit posts to class suggestions and posts supporting previous class suggestions. PS. Please don’t get all whiny if no trainer is able to host your class request. Hmmm ok let me see  Some classes i would like to see and would hope there would be some interest in: 1)Team Duelling - you know these 2 v 2 etc... it would be good to learn the ins and outs of this. 2)Guns - I know i suck at guns mostly so would be interedted in some classes to do with these. (Sniper classes would be good aswel) 3)Although i hate the area maybe a rp class or so i hear a lot of people are into it these days. 4)A CTF class could be of some interest aswell 5)A general game mechanics class not just for duelling but to cover the full game, cvars etc... 6)Maybe an irc class aswell or something along those lines cos a lot of people seem not to use it. 7) a Strategy lesson for either single duelling or team etc... 8)Etiquette - most of us know how it is but still a lesson in the old ways of a jedi might be good. I am with Xan and Tal in this one... It would be just interesting for everybody, tough. Umm one problem of hybrid style is that you can't actually teach it, There is no straight way to learn it. Hybrid style is like whatever you learn from classes or from others, You will variate them together. So actually when people goes to classes they actually learning allready the hybrid style. But like I said I am with Tal and Xan in this one because It would be interesting that how teachers would make it out But if you don't see it as totally needed, two nice classes could be basic blue stance and advance blue stance. Then we would have classes like Basic Blue Advance Blue Basic Yellow Advance Yellow Basic Red Advance Red and all this together is equal with perfect knowing of hybrid style  _______________ Still here | My Lightsaber |

Im with Jacey P on that one I would love for a class to be just that, But im having trouble on thinking how it would be done. Maybe you want to throw in things as simple as 'When to lunge' to something like ' Aerial Yellow Swings' ..Maybe some Wind Slicin (blue style). Maybe you want to throw in mind games/tactics like 'moving like you would in yellow but swinging in red stance ' or vice versa or Something (again) simple as Moving between red swings to get a better angle/aim heh .. Yeah, a counter class is a good idea. Maybe some exploit-countering could be added to this class so the class goes over all the exploits in the game 2. That way this one class coverres 2 wishes Or have I just described a class that deals with a LOT of theory? The only problem being that it would need to cover how to beat the particular stance with ALL other styles. Oooo Oooo I have another idea for a class. This would be a fun class, but I think it would be good to have a class which teaches students various exploits in the game (for example getting into secret places and getting in to walls etc etc) As I said, it would just be a bit of fun mainly (and students would be taught not to use them in CTF!!! ^_^) I know quite a lot and usually, when I show them to people, they are eager to try them out ^_^ _______________ ------------------------ This comment was edited by OpTiMe on Mar 23 2005 03:02pm. |

Now this is a great idea for a thread, Squibit, good thinking  Since we're all either Jedi or Sith, it may come in handy if 'we knew how to use and manipulate the Force... therefore I suggest a:  'Force-training Class.' I dont know how many people would actually be interested/attend to this class, I would tho So, determined by the amount of interest I think, a time should be found. For example, if many people are interested, it might best be schedualled during the weekend, since most people are free then and can actually make the time. Its like broadcasting a populair series during prime-time on TV Anyway, how do others feel about a Force-class? _______________ The name is Bond. James Bond. |

Personaly i would prefer it to not have a gun element and would expect it to be more popular without, but even with guns the unusual duels class did rock. I really enjoyed this class, but to be honest, I think it was better WITH the guns. I don't mean to try and change everyone to playing guns and sabers, but when you get used to guns, and you realise the skill that is involved in it, it can really be challenging and fun. I would like to see a class like this where (hopefully) large numbers of people would join in order to play team games. To be honest i dont think its practical reserving time for an RP session, why not just d it when you feel like it... coz i prety much do, and have done since i made Jun Tao in JK2. I'm always around to RP, and im hearing more people who are interested in it so how about people put their names on a different post who are RPer's so that all the rest can look out for them and would be able to engage in RP more flexibly. Unless perhaps the RPers would play could RP on the Projects Server (more suitable than the classes server, Rp is a project, not really a class ) between an allotted time or maybe 2 smaller allotted time spans to fasicilitate for time differences?Obviously though this would need to be cleared with the JAK's etc what do you think? _______________ The Tao blood will never die...and it will run through every age of Time there is to come. I like this idea, and I like Squibits suggestions so far. I really NEED movement training, but I'm sorry 1am Friday morning is just no good for me, I have work Friday. The class sounds great, just what I need, but the time in the UK is pants, sorry.
