80M of RAM isn't too bad. To make sure it's not n your end check your overall CPU and RAM use. If something's fighting with JA for CPU time then it'll manifest itself as lag on your server. Try a speed test like dslreports.com to make sure it's not your Internet connection. How often is lag spiking?

I've been getting horrible lag spikes the past two weeks, and from what I've seen I'm not the only one this happens to. Maybe it's a serverside issue? Anywho, this happens sometimes and usually doesn't last longer than a few days so hopefully it'll all be fine soon :)

Funny, I've been running Internet Explorer since before IE4 first came out with Norton AntiVirus and no firewall (other than my router), and have never, repeat, NEVER, had a single spyware or virus. Sorry, but I think people are a little too fast to blame the software.

The best free one is Spybot Search and Destroy. Disable system restore and reboot your pc. Update your AV and Spybot and run both. Renable system restore after.

also try running your spyware removal stuff in "safe mode", when you restart your pc hold down F5 until the safe mode thingy comes up then go through the menus to start up and once you get into the operating system run adaware or whatever you have like normal. that should let it pull out more of those hard embedded buggers.

Okay, well, could try these:

1) NEVER use Internet Explorer unless you REALLY have to, as it doesn't protect sites from downloading spyware and such to your computer.

Solution: Use Firefox!

2) There are many programs better than Ad-aware out there.

Solution: Search Google for some good anti-spyware and anti-adware software. Alternatively, I found this.

3) These processes may still be running on your computer.

Solution: Close any programs you believe aren't needed to allow your system to run properly. If you are unsure of programs, google their file names! :D

80 MB is nothing. More recent and resource-hungry games, such as Half-Life 2, can easily consume over 200 MB of RAM depending on how much you have. Also, that number has nothing to do with your lag; it's just a measure of how much information the game is keeping stored at any given time. A better thing to look at in Task Manager would be CPU usages: make sure jamp.exe is getting the bulk of your CPU cycles. Anything else taking up more than 15% or so of your CPU is likely to be spyware (unless of course it's something you know is running and isn't taking up bandwidth).

Close any useless and unused programs. The less processes you have running, the better. :)

(I've had several programs run on startup which actually slow down my computer  )

Spyware could 'cause that yes...
Also if you have a network setup at your home, make sure nobody is using any file sharing programs or is downloading anything at the time you're playing... that also 'causes lag...
Furthermore it can be badly configured router at your ISP... I had that problem myself a while ago and called up the ISP to ask them firm but friendly to reconfigure it...

I hope this helps some
