Well, Since the chat room is full, then this is the quickest way to get help I guess. In Single Player, the sky is black and white grid instead of sky. Yeah, the other pk3s in your base folder is confusing JA. You can either delete them or rename your assets to z_asset01.pk3 so that it loads those last (it loads in alphabetical order). When you reinstalled, did you removed your base folder? It could be that another pk3 or folder is causing an issue that is stopping certain textures from showing. _______________ A wizard did it. |

strange but this problem only happens on maps other than jedi academy. and thats quite good coz i mostly play only jedi academy map with you guys and girls  _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. r_fastsky is an option you can use in the console to determine whether or not the game loads the sky or not. You can set it using /r_fastsky 0 or /r_fastsky 1 in the console. But it is not r_fastsky. It is because it cannot load the texture. There could be several things causing this. Check to make sure there are no files corrupting or overwriting the sky textures, as Jaina mentioned. Also, make sure none of the Assets are missing (which I doubt, since the game seems to work fine). |

It's like if you create a map with JKRadiant, the grid shows while making it but not in game. its black and white, just like creating a map. and what's r_fastsky? EDIT: about the graphics stuff, my computer can well handle this, trust me. it used to be sky but its grid now double edit: when i changed the resolution,in the console it said "Warning: couldn't find image for shader texture/skies/cloudlayer_yavin" I think the pk3 got accidently deleted,but i re-installed and its still the same. ??? _______________ Free Tibet! hmm...i may be wrong but I think this has something to do with maps u have put in your base folder. Certain maps (such as Jedi_Academy_v4.pk3) can mess up certain textures in the game...solution? Delete them _______________ INTP |

This is just a guess. But have you tried lowering the resolution and colour detail? If you try 640x480 res and 16 bit colour it might be alright. If it is then it's a graphics card problem (you didn't say what you had). If that doesn't work, then maybe it's some setting in the .cfg file. There is a list of commands to do with getting better fps and ping somewhere. That may help. Hope you get it sorted soon _______________ Geriatric single User, with a touch of Staff now and again.
