I just want to say that ranks being cut away is great...
My active participation spanned, geez... Must be a good 8-10 months, I remember before the ranks, and I can definately say that since ranks, while maybe adding some fun and such, the mood has definately taken a swing for the worst. People weren't as concerned with getting better as they were with just learning enough to make it up a step. I even saw some nasty things said here and there just because someone was a lower rank. I applaud the switch back to the old system. Not does it make things MUCH simplier, but it gets rid of the extra BS that never really mattered. Almost makes me want to come back full time ![]() |

I remember back beofre all the class points and that. There were still ranks but no points, so people would always be trying to get trials ALL THE TIME. Now we've got the best of both worlds, people not going to classes just for points and always pestering for trials (as if you're gonna get promoted you'll be chosen not choose)no rank nonsense about who deserves what, JAT's get more free time cos don't have to worry bout being pestered for trials whenever they are on a server.
Since theres only one rank (I really wouldn't count knight as a rank, more of a helpers, or graduates position, which people should aim for but aspire to)that means everyone is bascailly top rank as soon as they join, making everyone equal so it'll be for fun to train. The only gripe I might have.......yes here it comes. I know people griped about rank only classes, but they did have benefits. We have different skill levels here at the academy, and so a single class is rarely going to be able to cater for everyones skill level, which will lead people to complain again and not go to classes (as there is no longer a point incentive). The only way round this I can see is if there were more leveled classes (back to the curriculum idea again), consisting of 3 sequential classes, maybe one a week instead of one each day to sort out attendance and availability issues. First one would be very basic, second intermediate, third advanced, possibly one more for expert. Then other courses of classes could be arranged but at a higher level, so the first course of 3 must be completed before you can go to the others (although this is a form of rank, with people going to one set of classes just to they can get to the others) I'm sure the peeps in charge here will figure it out, they're quite smart you know.............for humans. _______________ Apprenctice of Jedi Master Ascari (deceased) Descended from a line of great Jedi Will argue any point of view from any side ![]() |

I hope that without ranks people will come to classes to really learn instead for the points. This way the trainers can have the feeling again that the people are there to learn !!

Holy s***. As soon as I get here, huge changes!! ![]() Well, I don't know what it was like before, but I'll trust the judgement of the upper management. You guys started this thing and know it best, so I accept whatever decisions you feel are necessary to maintain the integrity of JA. <bows> -rh _______________ Back from the dead... |
