I had a crazy idea, if the academy gets too big at some point it would be interesting to start two divisions of the Academy, Jedi and Sith.
There could be a Sith Council as well as a Jedi Council, Sith Knights and Teachers to teach the dark side and Dark / Light battles with Academy members. :alliance: / :empire:

BAD!

bad bad bad bad BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD! BAD! BAD!

The JA isn't a clan! :P
Main difference :

- Not "clan wars" and the like.
- Ranks not attained because you have certain skill level, or certain time in the JA, Much harder.
- We love newbies !

Those are off the top of my head.

Everythng else you said was cool tho. Other than, WHY DID YOU PLAY JK3 ON AN XBOX

I got jedi outcast just to try it out, definatly not nearly as good, the controls were so much harder. :P

actauly I find it amazing with an xbox controlelr and ahve been looking for one with a USB connection :P... also about loving newbies and your rank not just determined by skill. That is how our clan worked. Also we didn't care much about clan wars, but if a clan did challenge us we would accept for the fun of the match. In fact lol we sent our padawans in the clan matches to see how there training has aided them. We did not have any forums thought un fortunately.. so basicly everyoen was just on xbox live 24/7 and in a week alot happend training wise. We didn't even bother keeping count any matches that we won.
Although If you have no clan matches.. I can understand calling your self ntoa clan. It was quite funny. We had troubles finding a name for our selves.. and we realized we were a learning based clan that accepted people of any skill and trained them. (although just to deek them out we would have them go against someone just for the sake of the council leader having a fun time. No one who joined have ever beated him. it eb like *rolls adn stab sabered him rhough the gut and the enemy falls down* "ok your in" *says that whiel teh guy he stabed respawns*
Man did i learn to dodge lethal blows to when teddybearbee like to do rolling stabs with daul light sabers 50% of the time... and get away with it. now tis goign to be so different with a keyboard.. I mean you can't ave exact degres of movement... its simply 8 movements only :( and without a joystick rolling a nd jumping will never be the same. Although at least I can hotkey 'all' of my force powers now.

I use to help run a light side clan for xbox and we basicly had a watered down version of 'thejediacademy' Although are training was much more intense daily wise, If you hadn't played for 1 or 2 days you most likely lost your touch and your padawan could probally pawn you a few times before you re got the hang of it. As a trainer a few times I used dark force powers to train him how to fight the dark force. Most players on xbox live thought dark force was cooler and there was no reall need of teachign how to use it. Also when everyone runs around with light powers only they can heal there selves after duels. Thats another reason we went light side, beside it made mroe since... ironcily enough our clan name (when we actaulyl decided to call it something) was exactly the name of this clan's name. Only of course we were of much smaller scale... less members.. less specific classes ( if you were a noob we would forge you into a player well beyond the average players in 3 days or less.) smaller map (since there was no custom map) less persitantcy (since we didnt leave our xbos's on and di dnot have a persistant server ) and the clan lived a short amount of time. But beleive me it was awesome. Even thought we knew light force abilites help your light saber skill determine who wins (we did lots and lots of saber training) THere was a vbit of annoyanca of hwo the changes teh abilities for multiplayer. ie: absorb in single player was a certain cost on use and lasted a certian amount of time.. teh same thing is for multiplayer only it also costs force while it lasts. So if somone keeps hitting drain over and over.. eventaully youll have the one second your absorb turns off and they will deat up all of your force besides them gaining life... after you got drained you wudl never have enoguh force to absorb.. since it costed 20 to start and it coste additionaly to keep it going. In other words we tried to kill the dark force users as fast as possible before they had a chance to use drain. Slamming on protection and speed and just noobishly franticly slicing at them usaully did the trick... of course for the poepel who used no light sabers and used 2 handed lightinng.... the absorb worked like a charm.

I don't see much of a point in this. It would only cause more work for everyone. You can still be a "Sith" or a "Jedi" if you want to :P Or you can just be yourself.

Good idea though, I bet there's a few Sith Academy rips off of this place somewhere out there.

hehe, the website actually still has the ability to choose you're an "apprentice" or "padawan" when you're a paddy of someone (the feature is not being used) ;)

About the idea: well.. *shrug*

I don't really see the point; it would only make things more complicated :)

I think that comes under option 2.
I see your point, no reason to bring the dark side in here. That would pretty much be the oposite of what were doing.

Generally there arnt many classes on force dueling anyway so therefore this is not neccersary.

If you were talking about training a "Dark side mentality" rather than a light sided one then it just isn't going to happen...

Trainers are free to teach dueling mentality any way they like once they are chosen (i think) but to be chosen as a trainer in the first place requires certain traits such as:

Game skills of course,
Ability to teach
Ability to communicate well (not lose thier tempor)
Generaly being a cool person in many other ways

Therefore if someone really had a "Darkside" mentality they would never get promoted to be a trainer. and as you cant have an academy with noone teaching it isn't going to happen.

If you mean an academy that isn't affiliated with the JA, then there already are a few i belive (sorry no links cause i never wanted to look one up). However they are generaly much smaller and more disorganised than this academy due to the general nature of the "Darkside"

Force training wise. The academy doesnt mind teaching people to use the darkside powers (lightning grip drain etc.). As long as it is done in a jedi-like mannor.

/Adds a 4th option to the poll "Meh, good idea but very unlikly to happen and unneccersary"
