I had the exact same problem when i tried to join the JA servers for the first time. Dont worry about the invalid game folder error, me and a few other members get the same error, it basically means you need to connect twice As for the unpure client .pk3 error (or something like that LOL), the JA servers are 'Pure Servers,' meaning that you cant use any skins/maps w/e what you've downloaded. (Besides the the_academy_v2.BSP map.) What you do, is go to the JA folder -> Game Data -> Base, and erase all .pk3 files which arent supposed to be in the folder. NOTE: DO NOT delete ANY assets, (Asset.pk3, there are several of those) They are critical for running the game. Try connecting to the servers, you should be fine. If you still get an unpure error, you probably have a map in Game Data called 'reload,' which is the mod the JA servers use. There are probably some skins/maps in that folder which arent in there when you first installed the game. Give this folder the same treatment as you would the Base folder, and you should be fine  Okay. Now, you can download JJ's skin pack, its supported by the servers, that should work. However, dont download/install the skinpack before you've been playing at a JA server at least once. I dont know why, it just works that way for me LOL.
