that had to be the best one yet....man it was just amazing. I especially liked the countless references to the "old" movies (episode 4-6). Such as the ships that look very similiar, but aren't exactly the same, and things like that. It really tied the story together. Also, despite the fact that like everyone dies, its not drawn out, and therefore its still an awesome movie. Its sad that all the jedi died, but we all know that in time the light side will regain its power -Dice _______________ Dicemaster |

Well, I have a dry run with my costume now, so that'll do well. As for the "Anakin being revived" thing, I was just going off of the book, where Sidious says "Live, my apprentice. Live", while laying his hands upon his cracked brow, after just pulling him from the lava stuff. I'll see what the movie has o say. The book could have different interpretations. I do have a couple more thigs I was waiting to see if the movie revealed, so I think I will avoid this forum until after I see the movie (a few more hours). _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. I agree that they could have made the talking with the dead a little more clear. And oh, Anakin never died, and certainly didn't get revived. :/ Maybe knocked out. I've just come back from seeing ROTS and in my opinion it is the best yet. There is just to much to talk about, it's all still swimming around in my head at the moment so there is no chance of me sleeping just yet. But I will say this Obi-Wan is awsome, Ive always known this but this movie just confirms it. The trick he used to revive Anakin is a common Jedi trick. It's sort of what we have in the form of an electric jolt to bring the heart up again. What he does is he pumps a load of energy in the body so that it awakens if it is not damaged beyond repair or "dead" for too long. This works only short term, things to lengthen life need something totally else, and I think they seek that from the holocron. _______________ Personal sleepness-nights-supporter of Virtue. Sigh....from the book: And the circuit completed itself: the lightning reflected back to its source. Palpatine staggered, snarling, but the blistering energy that poured from his hands only intensified. He fed the power with his pain. .... .... "Help me! I can't hold on any longer!" The yellow glare from Palpatine's eyes spread outward through his flesh. His skin flowed like oil, as though the muscle beneath was burning away, as though even the bones of his skull were softening, were bending and bulging, deforming from the heat and pressure of his electric hatred. .... .... Palpatine examine the damage to his face in a broad expanse of wall mirror. Anakin couldn't tell if his expression might be revulsion, or if this were merely the new shape of his features. Palpatine lifted one tentative hand to the to the misshapen horror that he saw in the mirror, then simply shrugged. So it's not an "unmasking", it is him being physically deformed. I thought the same, that it was him losing his dark side masking, but reading this showed it was scarring, deformities, etc. that made him look that way. Also, I do see where Sidious states to Anakin that he does not know the secrets to extending life, that he was never taught them, but then he uses them later to revive Anakin. Anakin is apparently DEAD, from the lava. Sidious revives him. A bit of trickery there, tell Anakin to cleanse the temple to get at the archives, so they can "learn", how to do this technique, when Sidious knew how to do this all along. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. Yeah I agree with you mate. I heard something about him not being able to keep his disguise. What I heard was that Sidious always looked like that -- at least from Episode I onward -- and the reflection of lightning back at him caused him to lose concentration in his disguise, thus revealing his true form. While it may be true that Dooku didn't suffer these effects, we have to remember that Palpatine is considerably more powerful than Dooku -- or really any other Jedi at the time. _______________ © |

Two other things I brought up in other forums: Palpatine gets his face disfigured by a Force lightning loopback, during fight with Mace. Palpatine does not know the power to extend the life of others, the very power he tempts Anakin with. These are both interesting, as for years and years we just guessed that Palpatine looks like that because the Dark Side consumed him, and that all his future clones would look like that. This is not so. Dooku looked fine. Sidious just had some massive scarring to have him look like that. And the other point, Sidious says blatantly in the book that he does not know how to, only after Anakin has pledged himself as Darth Vader. Nice piece of trickery. And then the trickery of "go cleanse the temple so we can have all the Holocron knowledge, and then we might be able to figure it out." _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. Well here goes my question: What's up with Commander Bacara? Not mentioned in the book. I gather he's the one that kills Aayla Secura. Commander Cody is the one that goes after Obi-Wan, after the whole Order 66 thing. So why does Commander Bacara get a first-run action figure?
