NPC Spawning? | |

I must sound like a major n00b, but i have to ask this. The patch for JK3 seemed to have disabled the ability to spawn npcs. is there any other way to get spawing working? _______________ Sir Bedevere: ...and that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana shaped. Quote: and connect to your IP You'll want to connect to your Local IP if you're connecting to a dedicated server running on your machine. If you are unable to find your Local IP, just go to Play > Join Server and change the "Source" to "Local" at the top, center of the screen, then join the only server listed there (your's). |

Yeah, not sure why that isn't working. As Setementor said, try reinstalling. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what the problem is. The only other idea I have is, if you're not starting your server as a dedicated one, try that. In the advanced options, click the "Dedicated" option until it reads "Internet." When you go to start your server, your game will close and a console will come up. Keep that open, that is your running server. Then, just run another process of your game, and connect to your IP, and try it through that. Also, load the mod before you start the server. Now, I don't know if this will work or not, it's just a suggestion. If it does work, then it proves yet again that SmilyKrazy rules. _______________ - Proud padawan of Kueller. - We really are at the beginning of it all. It depends on what you're trying to spawn. For simple things such as a stormtrooper, the command is: /npc spawn stormtrooper Or you could try these: /npc spawn wampa /npc spawn rancor /npc spawn shadowtrooper There's a huge list of things you can spawn. If you're trying to spawn a vehicle, try these: /npc spawn vehicle tauntaun /npc spawn vehicle atst_vehicle /npc spawn vehicle wampa_vehicle (this sometimes crashes the server) Try some of those out. _______________ - Proud padawan of Kueller. - We really are at the beginning of it all. WEll....I have managed to get it to grant me access to npc spawn, but the usual command for it "npc spawn character" doesn't work so i was thinking there must be another command but i couldn't find it. Does anyone know what it is?confused yet again... _______________ Sir Bedevere: ...and that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana shaped. Well, to get it running, you startup your game, then go to Setup > Mods. Click on JAR 1.4, possible labeled JA Reloaded 1.4, and click "Load Mod." Now, your mod is loaded and all you have to do is start your own server normally. Now, before you do that, go into your JK:JA > Gamedata > Reloaded folder, and find the file called "Reloaded.cfg" In there you can edit everything you want, as well as set up your admin passwords. Once you have that set the way you want, just save it, and run your server. To log into admin, use this command: /amlogin yourpasswordhere Make sure you set the admin allowed commands bitrate so it allows npc access. A bitrate calculator comes with JAR 1.4 I believe. Just find the completed code for the commands you wish to allow, and bring down your console once the server is started and type this: /g_mAdminCommands # Or, if you made it a dedicated server, just type that in the dedicated server console. Next, to grant yourself npc access, type this: /amnpcaccess playerID (just put in your name) After that, you should be able to spawn. Let me know if you can't get any of that working. _______________ - Proud padawan of Kueller. - We really are at the beginning of it all. Okay, i was just looking through jk3files.com and seen JA: reloaded 1.4 and was wondering if that would help? Is that the one you are talking about? _______________ Sir Bedevere: ...and that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana shaped. King Arthur: This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Ah, I have the problem too alot of times. I believe it has everything to do with the patch, but I'm not sure. My advice, is to download a mod such as JA Reloaded, set up your admin config for it (just follow the readme), and spawn using that. It should work. _______________ - Proud padawan of Kueller. - We really are at the beginning of it all. Thanks for that. It does enable cheats but still a spawning error comes up. It won't let me spawn anything. You can enable cheats. All you have to do is type /devmap mapname. All cheats will be enabled then. It doesn't work anymore for single player though, for some odd reason. After that you should be able to spawn. _______________ - Proud padawan of Kueller. - We really are at the beginning of it all. Well with some of the maps i've got things like stormtroopers used to spawn in them but now they don't.spawing manually with the npc spawn blah blah command was all i've been doing and now it doesn't work since you can't enable cheats because of the 1.01 patch. and yeah it is for my own server _______________ Sir Bedevere: ...and that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana shaped. I'm a bit lost here. Are you talking about the /npc spawn command? I'm not sure what you are used to, and if you are talking about running your own server, but spawning NPC's is an admin-restricted command. The Academy map has a NPC room though, where you can simply push one of the three buttons and one will be spawned for you. If you are running the JA reloaded mod, you will have to log in, and type /amnpcaccess in order to get access to the /npc spawn command. |
