I hear there's a bot named Darth Carvonus and he's better than most of the other bots. You should keep an eye out for him. >_> <_< _______________ © This comment was edited by Carve on Jun 11 2005 06:18am. |

Make sure you're keeping track of the difference between bots and NPCs. NPCs, short for Non-Player Characters, are used in the Single Player (SP) game to represent enemy and ally characters in the story. Therefore their health and abilities are set accordingly. They are spawned by npc spawn [character name]. Their relative difficulty is controlled by the g_spskill cvar. The NPC system exists almost completely in multiplayer, so most NPCs can be spawned without major bugs in multiplayer or singleplayer games. In multiplayer games they are considered part of the environment - they do not show up on the player list and being killed by them is the same as being killed by, say, a spike pit: the console will register the player as being killed by the worldspawn. NPC data is stored in base\ext_data\npcs\*.npc. Bots are used in Multiplayer (MP) games to simulate human opponents, usually to artificially increase the number of players on a server for a denser FFA or CTF. They can be selected for use in a game when creating it through the menu system, or added to a running game by the addbot command. Their difficulty must be selected when creating them. Bots are treated the same as players by MP games, except that their ping is locked at 0. Bots are stored in base\ext_data\bots\*.jkb. _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. Quote: Sure they do. Just go to the main menu, type /devmap mp/ffa1 (or whatever you want to play on), enter the game, and in the console, type /npc spawn reborn There are many you can spawn. This file may list them, though I wasn't able to check, as the filefront servers were down. Only Dark Jedi and Imperials will fight though, "Good Guys" won't shoot or attack you. Unless you're doing it from an SP game, in which case you can use playerteam enemy to have a duel with Luke. _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. |

Quote: Make sure when you're adding them that you have the difficults level increased above "Initiate". It's part of the add bot command if you're working through console, and there's an option for it under "Advanced" if you launch your server through a menu. Indeed, set it to Jedi Master for the toughest bots. |

There is a Dooku bot that is fairly decent, he uses the light side and uses different swings (not just the forward swing). However I don't remember where I got it......don't hurt me _______________ Honor those better than you would yourself. |
