Lost Disk

I have somehow lost disk 1 for my Jedi Academy which obviously means I can't play it at the moment. I was wondering if there was a NOCD out there which would enable me to play still, or if this was frowned upon by people here. Can anyone help?

There are no fully-working CD Cracks out there. If you want to play, you need the CD. If the CD is too damaged to play, then you'll have to buy a new one to continue playing.

well I do not like to distrubte burned CDs to a friend unless they lost their CD althouhg sometimes I burn a CD I bought for lan games inside my house ( 4 computers in one room) Although what is nice about academy is after you joined a server you can eject the CD, so I dont have to burn it for my lan games ( of course this can not be exploited to have someone else in another household, I mean who woudl join a server, eject there CD, run to their friends house and put the CD in there drive? ( not to mentoin if they dont live near you)

I apologize for offending you Llomar, that wasn't what I had in mind by posting. I am not saying you use cracks. And I agree with DJ Sith here that it's cool to copy it from a friend if you allready bought it. I just wanted to give a little warning so that this thread wouldn't cover where to get them cracks and how they work.

Personally I think that Lucasarts should be able to provide you with a replacement CD if you can provide a receipt, but if wishes were fishes... :)

This is a fine line I suppose. If you can, try to get it used from a game store. It should be cheap. Heck, even ebay might work. You really shouldn't have to pay for another CD though. As said below just borrow and copy from a firend. I have no problem with you doing that so long as you originally purchased the game.

As for crackz discussion here. We acknowledge that they exist, but lets not talk about where to get them, or how they work please.

As is pointed out in this thread use of a NOCD with JA doesn't allow online play, so I feel this is just a case of somebody trying to sound clever complaining about an innocent question about a game. To find a hint of wrongdoing in my original post, or any of the answers regarding it is confusing to me to say the least.

In fact I quite clearly stated in my second post on this thread that I intend to go and and PAY for another copy of the game that I already own. What a bad example I am...

Discussing a NOCD crack is talking warez to me.
In this case it might not be warez, but be aware that the forums are open to the public, what happens if an idea suggested in this thread is looked upon by a non-member who doesn't feel like paying for this awesome game? That's why I made that post.
To me it's really simple
NOCD = crack
crack = warez
warez = bad

EDIT: If you ARE the rightfull owner of the game then I suggest you try finding help somewhere else like on IRC or something, or via MSN, at least don't discuss it in public...

I didn't think I was discussing warez at all, I was asking about making a game I have paid for but lost a component for work again. That is the purpose of a NOCD. Although I havent been on the academy much in recent months peoplehave seen me there and know therefore that I own the game, thus stopping the use of a NOCD from being classed as warez.

I just checked amazon and they are selling it for £50!!!!!!!!!! A disgrace. I am sure I have seen it at Gamestation, preowned for about £5 so I will toddle over there at some point and rejoin you all to continue my study.

the best choice would be to find a friend... ask him/her his/hers cd and make image of it in your PC... then you only need some cd mount software like daemon tools.
no cd changin ever... and cheapier ofcourse :D
