Quote: It was Anakin. First, he killed all the Jedi except for two, so that there were two Jedi and two Sith. Balance. Then he threw the Emperor into the pit, destroying the last of the Sith. See? Quote: hello thought id add the decisive comment to this thread right, where to start. anakin, he was a good jedi, right? then he turned bad, and witnessed both sides of the force, this increased his knowledge to not only know the good but also know the bad, luke eventually helps him to realise that he is on the wrong side as the emporer attemps to kill luke. vader/anakin then picks up empy and throws him over THE SIDE KILLING THE LAST OF THE SITH! as he has again joined the good side of the force with the aid of his son, he has now forfilled his destiny as bringing BALACNE to the force he then dies. so he has forfilled his part in the saga. the re-erection is left to his son. so therefore like has played his part by strenghening the balance not by bringing it. so i end my post ya thats what i said. _______________ "You can't get Windows on a Mac because the drivers are not compatible." --- Some dude from the Geek Squad "So if you have quad-core, you have four times the RAM, right?" --- Some guy at Best Buy This comment was edited by DarthMike on Jul 08 2005 06:04pm. |

It must be Anakin, any way you look at it, it is. 1. The whole thing that he balanced out the force by making there be 2 sith and 2 jedi. 2. He was actually the one who killed the emporer and pretty much himself. _______________ "You can't get Windows on a Mac because the drivers are not compatible." --- Some dude from the Geek Squad "So if you have quad-core, you have four times the RAM, right?" --- Some guy at Best Buy This comment was edited by DarthMike on Jun 24 2005 02:31am. |

I actually tried using that argument myself a couple months ago on some forums, though the idea wasn't really debated nor taken much into consideration. Doesn't it make sense though? For anything to exist as a 'balance', there has to be an equal amount of good AND bad. The fact that the Jedi have been [more or less] in control for a few thousand years, and definitely a majority in comparison to the sith, doesn't really seem like much of a balance. Anakin killed all the Jedi, save for two, striking a balance between both the Jedi and the Sith - two each. Doesn't that strike a balance in the Force? _______________ Brother to Luke Skywalker and (SKX) Dark Blade Lag Brother to Acey Spadey Jools is my best friend. <Henkes> nebody feeling like abusing me with a lightsaber?|+Smilykrazy grabs Gradius, beats the living CRAP out of him, then throws him into a huge vat of ACID |

Quote: I read an interesting argument/critisism a while back about this "chosen one" bringing "balance to the Force". It argued that the Jedi had failed to undertake simple maths in their training, because when you think about it, at the end of Episode III (or later on before A New Hope when ALL the other Jedi (not Obi-Wan or Yoda) have been killed, there is sure to have been stragglers for Darth Vader to hunt down), he has brought BALANCE to the force - there are 2 Jedi (Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda) and 2 Sith (Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader). Now that is balance to be sure! Of course that is just one way to look at it, I'm sure there are many differing views of what this "chosen one" is. Personally I do not see how Luke could have been the chosen one because, granted when he founded the Jedi Academy there wouldn't have been any Sith left (the Emporer and Vader were the only two I beleive, and Palpatine wouldn't have taken anymore Apprentices because as Yoda stated, "there is always two - a Master and an Apprentice". The Emporer wanted Luke for his Apprentice, so he would probably have made Darth Vader a Master of the Sith. Who knows? I could speculate forever. But back to the point, sure Luke had no Sith in the beginning, but there would always be Jedi weak enough to turn to the Dark Side... P.S. This is my first post here, glad to be a Student! I thoguht of that arugement a while ago, but later on in episode three they also reveal that the chosen one will destroy all of hte 'sith' (sith as in the REAL sith the Master and Apprentice) _______________ "Darkness is simply the absence of Light" "Is it not easier to snuff out the light completely than to make no shadow or darknes at all and create pure light?"
