Yeah, even several of the jurors have made statements along the lines of "well he probably is a child molester, but with the evidence in the case we couldn't convict him."

And they absolutely HATED the mother. I think Bill O'Reilly had it right when he said this is like the Peterson case. There the jury hated scott peterson, and here the jury hated the mother.

There was considerably more than that to the 1993 case. A salient point was that the kid described distinguishing features of what Jackson looked like naked, details that he could not know if, well, he did not know--that was what prompted the out-of-court settlement.

And no argument that the current victim's mother was a sleazeball. As I've stated before, I think she put her child in harm's way because she was fishing for money. But I still respect the jury's decision: It sounds like the prosecution simply did not present evidence that removed reasonable doubt.

You should say very sleezy history. Here's a report of the mother on the witness stand:

http://www.courttv.com/trials/jackson/041905_ctv.html#continue

FFS, she can't even lie good, how did it get this far?

I read a report of what happened to the first accuser in 1993. They had a tickle fight for 15 minutes and MJ's hand touched the kid's lower portion of his genitalia (I couldn't get myself to write the slang, lol!) A tickle fight gets wild and if MJ's hand touched it, big deal. That's not worth several million. MJ should just stay away from personal contact and just write checks. And... stop giving kids alcohol, that sounded true. He needs to lock up his porn better too, probably not have it at all.

It may not be illegal. But would YOU send your kids over there knowing that he might share a bed with them?

Face it, its nutty on the institutionalization level.

South Park did a brilliant analysis of the matter without really taking a position on the question of his guilt or innocence.

Michael Jackson is crazy - doesn't make him guilty. He may have done it, but sharing a bed with children isn't a crime in itself. I understand the jury's verdict.

I agree completely. Sharing a bed with children is not illegal, there was no proof that while doing so, he molested the children. I've kinda begun to believe that his life was so messed up that his mind set is still partially that of a young boy, and therefore he doesn't see anything he does as wrong. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. Who knows, but life will go on, lets not worry about the past. Yes money=get out of jail free card, and life is unfair, but didn't we all already know that?

thing is, he never actually had a child hood. at the age of 5 he was forced into the Jackson 5 so all he wants to do now is basically BECOME a child again hence the whole Peter Pan Gimmick

I really agree with Jon Stewart of the Daily Show; that we, as a nation, are saying:

"So you share a bed with little boys. *shrug* Eh. Go on, move along. ;) "

That's just wrong, on our part. Although, we really had a poor prosecution. The guy was whacko, yes, but there wasn't much there.

I mean, Blake.....we had stunt man after stunt man get up there and say "Yeah, he asked me to kill his wife". And then the whole "Oh, I left my gun at the restaurant, and when I went back, my wife was shot in the head". And we didn't convict that?

What made you think our system would convict Whacko Jacko? We all hoped, yes, but there was just not a good prosecution. He showed up in PJs, said he shared a bed with children, and, um, some of those that we put up to bash him ended up suppporting him, so that screwed the prosecution.

Really, we just don't do a good job of justice. Between average jury members not knowing what way is up, witnesses that follow the dollar instead of the truth, and prosecution that tries to convict on defendant image and not on fact, it's no wonder we get screwy convictions.

Bah. No surprise to me, really.

I do think he was guilty, and yes I have followed the story closely and know all about the sleazy history of the victim's family. I also believe, however, that there was reasonable doubt and don't fault the jury for acquiting.

I do note, however, that whether the victim's parents were "just out for money" is irrelevant to the question of Mr. Jackson's guilt or innocence. It looks an awful lot to me like they deliberately put their child in harm's way, knowing all about Jackson's history, because they knew they could sue if he did anything. I don't know what really happened--that's just what it looks like to me, but even if that's exactly what happened it does not excuse Jackson. The only real reason to acquit is that the jury had reasonable doubt as to whether he did what he was accused of doing in this particular case, and I think that's exactly what the jury did. I think they looked at the evidence presented in court (which is all they're allowed to consider) and saw reasonable doubt.

i always thought he was innocent, i think its morally wrong to trash talk him after wot hes been through, sure hes a human freak but that doesnt mean we can call him guilty when he was proven NOT guilty in a court of law

PS calling him a human freak isnt trash talking him, i just think wot he did with himself was a bit freaky :P

He admitted to sleeping in bed with children. Whether they're out for money or not. It doesn't change the fact that a 40 year old man is sleeping with children he has no relation too at all.

Before you go around pronouncing him guilty, do some research on the backstory. Not that I think he doesn't molest little boys, but IMHO there's a strong likelihood the plaintiffs were just out for money.
