I recently made a post here about the battle over coruscant made and i got myself wondering. Why isn't there a flying map server in the academy. That space map was hilarious. I loved randomly lightninging fools and getting it myself. dumbass.. don't bump 3 year old posts
in regard to this. Virt did make a space map that was going to be a seige map. we played the opening part of it as that is as far as it had gotten. the DS map it had an opening area with 4 x-wings and a lambda shuttle and a shelf on the far side of it with 4 tie-fighters on it. we had fun on it flying about and doing tricks. even being able to park every single flying craft into the hanger ( if you messed up.. you blew everything up and had to start again.. messing up involves moving in the wrong direction just a little so was quite a challenge ) but the annoying part of the map was that if you used lightning on any craft.. they randomly took off and would flail about the place and blow up. so if you wanted to just fly about.. someone would come up and lightning you just as you got in and you would crash and die. my thoughts _______________ .Lag Bro to Xanatos. I saw that, and I posted in there asking if it works for pure servers, as it overwrites files. But I never got any response. While flying maps may be enjoyable, alot of times they take up too much server space, and require people to download extra vehicles or delete other custom ones out of their base folders. Also, if for some reason we had flying maps running, it would be for training purposes only, not for entertainment, as we're a community that teaches people how to play the JK games and allows them to play on decent "lamer-free" servers.
