i am a Jedi like my father before me...

Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.

Jedi use their powers to defend and

protect,never to attack others,

Jedi respect all life,in any form.

Jedi serve others than rule over them,

for the good of the galaxy.

Jedi seek to improve

themselves through

knowledge and training.

There is no emotion; there is peace.

There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.

There is no passion; there is serenity.

There is no death; there is the Force.

Remember...The Force will be with you,Always.

A Jedi posses great KNOWLEGDE a Sith posses great POWER, but in order for a Jedi to get that knowledge they use the POWER around them, The Sith would use the KNOWLEDGE of the force to develop the POWER it is this understanding all force users in the Star Wars saga have in common.

That's not taken from anywhere that's what i believe:D

Rampage, Plo originally posted this thing in 4 forums. I think he deleted some and the others disappeared. That's what happens when you post the same topic in more than forum. Some people's comments get lost in the other posts and only one remains in view.

No Drummer I'm sorry that is not what I'm referring to. Anakin gained that ability in Edge of Victory books. And Jacen gained that in Traitor. The ability to do this is Separate from the Force. Its similar to how Tahiri works as well, they couldn't be concentrating on the Force to do these things. I'm speaking of what Anakin did before his death. He could sense the Vong through the Force. It even said during that scene that he wasn't sensing them through his lightsaber but through the Force.

ok, its been a while since i finished all those, and ive only ead throught them once, so yeah..im thinking you're referring to anakin being able to sense them through his lightsaber, correct? well, my thinking, as i said earlier, is that the SW universe force that the jedi feel, is just one facet of a larger force. so the combination of the SW force (in anakins lightsaber) and the Vong force (in the crystal) allows him to channel through both facets...or sumtin like that...o well, ill look back and think more about it sometime....

Sorry Drummer I didn't read through all your stuff because I started reading and spotted an immediate error. Going with the Midichlorian theoryas being the reason the Force can be sensed in living things and them being required, The Vong do have them. Just because the Jedi are unable to sense them doesn't mean much. Besides if you read Star By Star, its in there. You may miss it but the Vong can be sensed through the Force. Also there is a very good question in Traitor. "If the Force is life, how can life exist without the Force?" So the Vong do exist in the Force.

Edit* Now I've read through it. Not bad except for the above statement.

wow...i thought I was an SW freak...well, i haven't thought too deeply about any of this stuff really, but my thoughts are somewhere along these lines. If you go by Ep1-3, theres those medichlorien things that i cant spell...now, every...umm...thing in the universe of SW (obviously not the Vong universe) has medichloriens in it, even if it's just a rock. Now, in most organisms it isn't very high. but there is the occasional one who is "force-sensitive" and they can go on to be jedi or sith or whatever. The Vong don't have medichloriens. This would be a good example of evolution based on environment. In SW universe, they evolved for some reason or another. In the Vong universe, they weren't needed. It's like the difference between africans and caucasions(sp?). Caucasions didnt have a need to protect themselves from the sun as much, so they're white, etc. (dang, this is turning into a freakin essay...) now, the theory of a "light" and a "dark" side could be true, or not true. if you would allow me, think of the theory of relativity. everything is relative. If we always saw light, nothing but light, then there would be no dark. dark is only dark relative to light. But, truly, there is no true dark, or true light anywhere in this universe. its always degrees of light or dark. even in a pitch black cave, deep under the earth there is still light, even though we may not percieve it. so, the monks view of the force as a rainbow is more accurate in regard to that. But i disagree with that, in a sense (yes, im arguing with myself) If i would be allowed, im going to quote C.S. Lewis, a great philosopher and incredibly deep thinker, from his book, Mere Christianity (which, btw, i find is very similar to the force in terms of ideals and such). "Dualism means the belief that there are twon equal and independent powers at the back of everything, one of them good and the other bad...They both existed from all eternity. Neither of them made the other, neither of them has any more right than the other to call itself God. Each presumably thinks itself good and the other bad. One likes cruelty and hatred, the other, love and mercy, and each backs its own view. Now what do we mean when we call one "Good" and the other "Bad"? Either we are merely saying that we prefer one to the other, or else, whatever anyone may think, one of the two powers is actually mistaken in believing itself good....and so (he goes on to prove the first choice wrong)...But the moment you say that [one is wrong], you are putting into the universe a 3rd thing in addition to the 2 powers: some law or standard or rule of good which one of the powers fails to conform to. But since the 2 powers are judged by this standard, then this standard (or the Being that created this standard) is farther back and higher up than both of them, and He will be the real Gdo [or power]" Now that basically states that neither of the sides of the force actually is "the Force." they are merely 2 parts or sides or facets of the Force. later, Lewis states that, "you can be good for the mere sake of goodness; tou cannot be bad for the mere sake of badness. you can do a kind action...simply because kindness is right; but no one ever did a cruel action simply because cruelty is wrong-only because cruelty was pleasant or useful to him...Goodness is, so to speak, itself; badness is only spoiled goodness. And there must be something good first before it can be spoiled." So either there is some real "force" out there, of which the light side and dark side and the SWuniverse are mere facets of, or the light side is the only siade; the supposed dark side is just going after good things (even if it is personal pleasure) in the wrong way, spoiling the goodness. Ok, thats the end of my essay, i know its a lot, please dont hurt me!

Vergere's method requires that there is no sides period. There is only the Force. The classic Jedi Theory is that there are 2 sides. The A'ing Ti monks see a rainbow. Obviously the Jedi's view of the Force is not complete, otherwise they would be able to sense the Vong. You can look at it really anyway you want but the bottom line is that the Force is the Force. If a Jedi uses lightside powers in a way that isn't in a Jedilike way then the Jedi is using the darkside according to the method. It becomes convoluted when you really look at it.

Buzz and I have had discussion on this "no darkside" theory. He's right in that there is more than one way to view the force. I however have to disagree with him in the "no darkside" theory. I have a theory that allows for light and dark, while still allowing for balance.

There is no darkside. That's what happens. That's the different view of the Force. You can look at it the way the Jedi look at the Force but that's not the only way that it has to be looked at.

Very good Yun, very nice :)

Since this seems to have been converted into a thread on force theory I think I'll take advantage of it :D

The darkside cannot be controlled, yes it will give you vast amounts of power quickly, and will allow you to do anything or bend anyone to your will. Eventually the might of the power will consume and destroy you. Only a trained jedi with the deepest commitment and most serious mind can hope to harness the power of the force to ultimatley protect all things.

I've heard people say, and in a few of their signatures, their arguments that there is no dark or lightside, its all one big force and both should be used as one. Well that is jsut one of the many temptations of the darkside :P It may seem like you're doing the right thing, by using your vast power as a light jedi to strike down the evil, but this in itself is a darkside act.

True jedi refrain from using their full ofrce potential unless absolutely nessacery as the temptaion of the darkside, and of evil is ever present.

You people that believe yourselves to be dark jedi, HAH I say, HAH !!!! For those of you that beleive yourselves to be Sith, I grant you an even bigger HHHAAAAAHHHH!!!!

The only time darkside is ever stronger or more powerful is in a full ofrce duel in JKII :P Thats all.

And the goodies of the dark side have (those that Yun pointed out) all relate to eachother. Hate leads to power, and the power leads to immortality. Unfortunatly the dark die also gives corruption to you body (PALPETINE). And I wants it the ways it is.
