Seeking instruction on red aerials

I learned two spinning red aerials (are there others?) early on. I also got some tips from Kauyon D. and Avalon P. a few weeks ago that were valuable.

I've seen a lot of different people with some very effective and interesting styles. I'd really like to learn some of these techniques if anyone is willing to show me a few things. I feel stagnant when I'm not learning something and besides, I need to spice up my repertoire!

Leave me a post on my profile or catch me on IM or Xfire (ehthreat) if you have something to share!

truth!:) see when a guy does an aerial, theres always at least one side thats left open. so when u see someone aerial, just estimate where he will land, and stand on the side which is left open. the minute he hits the ground, hes open for counter at that side, so there you go =P o
of course, as my ping is always 300+ i might see things differently but thats my opinion anyway :P

I see your point m8, and sure it works if u got ze skilllzz.

But yellow spammers tend to get into a set pattern when they are countering red aerials (especially the right side swing aerial hop). So when I see that they for example, step left and swing everytime i fly in, I just adjust my 'point of impact' right into their walking pattern, which often results in a hit. Lots of yellow stancers are so 'stuck' in their pattern, that they fall for this trick a couple of times before adjusting.

Then of course there is the very L33T yellow spammer, those should just be locked up :D

And Masta made another good point. When u aerial, u need to escape aswell, and just like yellow spammers can get stuck into a pattern, so can red stancers (for instance the backflip after the aerial). Good yellow-ers can take a big advantage here.

All in all, I guess it comes down to being skilled with both stances, and making sure that ur moves are hard to predict. Of course, this is easier said than done.

With the exception when hes spinning like on crack =D
Best thing is to stay away from these though. There are lots of ways to counter aerials and most of these methods are really hard to execute successfully. You can practically hit your opponent at all times which means:
-while hes in midair
-while hes landing
-while hes escaping

Its all about timing though.

During an arial attack, the saber can be aimed at the opponent at all times. A carefully timed yellow diag or delayed red diag is the best solution to that atttack, you need to get UNDER them, not around them.
Other methods work from time to time, but its more of a crap shoot.

ive always hated air aerial, jumping jedes ( as in jumping jedies are people that the only time they are on the ground with when they are slicing, this can be very hard to hit them without hitting, especially if you have a low frame per second, not to mention it looks cheesy to me ) is one of my many pet peves... yeah I havnt posted in a while.. IM BACK!

as Tal said, we spam aerials like crazy mofo's. Not saying that this technique always work, but its fun :D

Next time i see u m8, we'll do some training. Ow and master made a good point, BWN is a great place to watch (and learn from) good red-users. Only drawback for me is that most BWN servers are American, thus screwing my ping. (low ping = nice when u spam aerials :D)
