Well, the music is from Gladiator and from Black Hawk Down, both tunes created by Hans Zimmer, one of the greatest composers of present day. Yes, the guy with the red saber does a red kata, and the guy with the staff does some moves from JK:JA. It's not (only) because they are fans of Star Wars, and the JK games but because they are very well skilled martial artists IMO. But yes, as I heard it too, there are sound effects too taken from the game. Amazing. Absolutely. _______________ When Chuck Norris is late, time better slows the **** down. Even the first time I saw this movie, I found it sort of corny. :s I like the duel, though! Oh, and the music from Gladiator at the end! _______________ In the navy and LOVING it!

wow.........just, wow oh and the guy does twist the saber into two, you can tell because of that quick second when there is a close up of the hilt and you can see his hands move in a twisting motion. the sound fx are really good, and in some places you can tell that some of the moves are from JA, like when the dual guy spins one of em on his neck, taunt in JA. not even to mention all the parts when they are doing moves from the beginning, during, and end of katas from JA. in all i would give this movie 9 out of 10, its just brilliant and very well done. EDIT: not to say they took the moves/ideas from JA, just that they are very similar  EDIT II: ok i just watched it again and to correct something, he spins the saber on his other saber, he spins it on his neck when its staff (saber spun on saber is the ACTUAL JA move) EDIT III: at one point the red single guy does a red kata too.... im sure all you guys have already seen this, and im prolly just stating the obvious, but ah well got nothing better to do tonight then analize every move in this movie This comment was edited by Pink_Mintaka on Feb 14 2006 02:33am. |

I've actually read that Darth Maul's Staff was specifically built and capable of unlocking into duel sabers. It really is a pitty that they didn't use this in the movie though. I think it would have added a much greater debth to the fight scene before the one on one. The staff was truely awesome to see for the first time and am okay that it was done the way it was done, but reading about its possibilities later on kind of upset me.
