Just watched a movie ? let us know what you just watched with a simple watch, Avoid or if your bored next to it.

Lets face it people dont have the same taste in movies but its pretty simple to work out if you wanna watch it, the Watch or avoid is just a guideline to that genre, so if you like the genre then you will like the movie more than likely.

i'll start

today i watched

Finders Fee - Mystery Indie movie - Watch for sure

Red Eye - Thriller - Only if your bored ( though cillian murphy is creepy :D )

I saw Clerks 2 while I was overseas and watched it again on DVD yesterday, awesome movie. I especially love Randal's Lord of the Rings analogy, thought it was spot on.rofl:D

ok i watched a few movies heh so here goes

In Pursuit of Happyness ( yes typo but its spelt that way for a reason ) Will Smith is a brilliant actor, no one can really deny that, he chooses really good roles that suit his RL character and intrests, The movie was not overly accurate to the true story but as a movie it was extreely well made and very tear jerking at times, i even had tears in my eyes in places.
Casting his RL son works perfect as u really feel the bond between them. DEFFINETLY WATCH IT if u get chance, Oh at the end watch out for the man in the suit that passes Will smith, thats the guy the movie is based on :)

Night at a Museum, was good for what it was, a kids movie essentially, ben stiller is good as he usually is in that type of role, 24 Fans look out for kim reaver aka Audrey in 24. Very Predictable but enjoyable non the less. Watch it to pass some time

Snake Eyes ( on TV over xmas ) Seen this long ago, i think its a great movie, they kinda give it away to quick but the camera work and script works well, if you like nic cage watch it for sure.

6TH DAY ( on sky at xmas ) Pretty fun arnie movie, the playful banter between him and his clone is funny as they are preparing to save the day. as always with arnie movies, a time wasting movie for sure.

Hollow Man ( on Tv also over xmas ) I love this movie for 1 reason only, Kevin Bacon, he can act for sure, i love it when he plays a character that goes through a dramitic change on screen ( stir of echoes comes to mind as another ). Apprently there is some deep message in this movie about obbession with work so i hear from everyone who has seen it, but its just a thriller movie to me :D and a good one. Bypass the sequel tho with Christian slater as its dire.

i think thats it lol, pretty sure i seen more but cant think, watching donnie brasco in bed later so heh might comment later on that who knows.

Come on yall seen movies over the xmas period lets fill this thread some more

Eragon - Good bit of escapism, if a bit flawed.

Requiem For A Dream - Cinematically awesome, excellent screenplay and a dark bleak plot to match. Pure class.

The Man - Flippin' hilarious.

Eragon- As a movie, it is meh.
As a recreation of the book, it is the biggest load of crap i've ever seen.

The Pursuit of Happyness- Great movie, I love that it doesn't portray the stock brokers as mean guys, they are just like normal people. Very inspirational and good feeling film, makes you wanna go volunteer at a homeless shelter :)

Eragon:

God that move was eh. I don't think they could have fit in more star wars parallels if they tried. Rather predictable too. Some parts I thought moved too fast and a couple areas dragged. Only see it if you feel like watching a movie and there's nothing else playing.

Yep i saw the Girl Next Door as well, watched it with my girlfriend, good laugh, and surprisngly well done for an american teen film i agree with the Dog. Great soundtrack in places, Elliot Smith and Echo and the Bunnymen ftw!

Before that we watched Johnny English again, its silly, but so very very funny. :P

oh yeah, forgot to mention the soundtrack.. i especially liked "teenage wasteland" "lucky man" and "this years love"

Teenage Wasteland was fantastic. As i said the other highlights for me were Elliot Smith (forget which song), and Echo and the Bunnymen (Killing Moon).

hehe, ill have to look into that, but after xmas ill be ordering the dvd of this, i loved it so much =)

Van Helsing

Highly amusing, often for the wrong reasons and very silly, it still manages to be an enjoyable watch. A bit of a mish mash in places of different ideas, and the acting is patchy (but not as patchy as the dialogue),, i'm not sure why i enjoyed it, but i did, it must therefore, of been doing something right.

THE GIRL NEXT DOOR

now, firstly i would like to say that this film was advertised and marketed horribly. It's tagline is "Matt never saw her coming ... but all his friends had!" Now, terrible marketing out of the picture, this isnt actually a bad film, and it most certainly isn't the typical "teen movie" because it goes a lot deeper than the pure sexual tension of teens (american pie for example). I would say this film is more of a romantic commedy, and believe me, it sure delievers a blast!
the two main characters are: Elisha Cuthbert (plays kim bauer in 24) and Emile Hirsch.
Its a fantastic film, i give it.. 9/10!! if you getr the chance, watch it :)

**SPOILERS, NO READING UNLESS YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT ITS ABOUT**
ok so, the film is about a senior highschool student nerd, with barely any social life, friends and no girl friends. One night, he's taking the trash out and he sees this amazing girl get out of her car and walk up the drive to the house next door (Danielle). After a slightly cliché scene where matt sees her getting undressed in the room opposite his own, they begin to get to know each other, and eventually start to date. Then, matt finds out a shocking secret about this new girl friend... she used to be a porn star! after this, their relationship spirals out of control and with an entrance of Danielle's old boss, Matts life soon becomes a rollercoaster of misfortune, intrigue, love and adventure.

**END SPOILERS**

I just saw Rocky Balboa aswell, Monteeee. I'm not as big a fan as you however I thought it was brilliant. They even made Rocky lose in the end which would have happened in real life because of the age difference.

But yeah, fantastic film. Loved the main fight aswell.

Harsh Times - I Dont know wot to say about this movie.. it was well just possibly one of the greatest movies i have seen this year, it was just so powerful and moving, i found myself with tears in my eyes at the end of the movie. You connect so much with the characters the ending is just so sad... please watch this movie if u get chance

Rocky 6 - Ok well this is a no brainer, im probably the biggest stallone fan on this website, it was a great end to the saga. It lets you know more about the rocky character than most of the movies and how his fame can effect others around him. Awesome but then im slightly baised

Happy Feet

Its about a Penguin with 'happy feet'.

Erm well while it is one of the stranger kids films i have seen, its enjoyable, Robin Williams is funny, and it has some (surprisingly) strong messages about over fishing and pollution. In fact at one point it gets quite dark, and i heard some kids getting a bit destressed in the cinema while i was watching it. Overal fun to watch with family or friends, but not going to blow you away.

I had a smile on my face the whole movie. It's great. If you think your family is dysfunctional, watch this movie. If you don't, watch it anyway.

X-3

Finally got to see this last night. I'd say not as strong as the second, but better than the first. A good action romp, with some great dialogue, and set pieces. Overal i enjoyed it!

Bob Roberts

Saw this last week sometime for Media. A very witty look into American politics by Tim Robbins. I'd recommend this to anyone interested for a high brow comedy. I enjoyed it a lot myself.

Part 1 of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather

Technically a TV movie, but thought i'd mention it anyway. I just saw the first part, and i was impressed at how well they have captured Pratchett's discworld on screen. The cinematograhpy is highly impressive, and the costumes, make up, and effects all work well. Only let down is some of the dialogue dosn't translate well from the book, and parts are not very snappy so to speak.

saw casino royale a week ago... pretty damn awesome i thought. first james bond i've seen that's actually physically suited to the role of 'highly trained british secret agent'. maybe im just thinking of pierce brosnan flailing his arms around whenever he got into a fight. either way the movie was sweet as.

pirates of the carribean dead mans chest - cant really remember what the first one was like but this wasn't too bad i guess. went on a bit longer than i'd expected but those squid/alien looking creatures on the flying dutchman (i think it was?) looked pretty damn cool. full props to whoever created them.

the big one i wanted to mention though.. miami vice. if you haven't seen this movie yet - dont. with tokyo drift taking the trophy for 'Worst Movie of All Time', this movie has got to be somewhere close behind. complete waste of money and exceedingly boring. you just know a movie sucks if half an hour into it you start wishing the movie would just end.. but nope it went on for another excruciating one and a half hours. its that bad. dont watch it unless you're monty and have bad taste in movies :P
