Quote: THE GIRL NEXT DOOR
now, firstly i would like to say that this film was advertised and marketed horribly. It's tagline is "Matt never saw her coming ... but all his friends had!" Now, terrible marketing out of the picture, this isnt actually a bad film, and it most certainly isn't the typical "teen movie" because it goes a lot deeper than the pure sexual tension of teens (american pie for example). I would say this film is more of a romantic commedy, and believe me, it sure delievers a blast! the two main characters are: Elisha Cuthbert (plays kim bauer in 24) and Emile Hirsch. Its a fantastic film, i give it.. 9/10!! if you getr the chance, watch it **SPOILERS, NO READING UNLESS YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT ITS ABOUT** ok so, the film is about a senior highschool student nerd, with barely any social life, friends and no girl friends. One night, he's taking the trash out and he sees this amazing girl get out of her car and walk up the drive to the house next door (Danielle). After a slightly cliché scene where matt sees her getting undressed in the room opposite his own, they begin to get to know each other, and eventually start to date. Then, matt finds out a shocking secret about this new girl friend... she used to be a porn star! after this, their relationship spirals out of control and with an entrance of Danielle's old boss, Matts life soon becomes a rollercoaster of misfortune, intrigue, love and adventure. **END SPOILERS** Lmao yeah, saw that last night on BBC1. Very good film. I love all those type of films (American High School comedies). _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world |

You connect so much with the characters the ending is just so sad... please watch this movie if u get chance
Rocky 6 - Ok well this is a no brainer, im probably the biggest stallone fan on this website, it was a great end to the saga. Happy Feet
Its about a Penguin with 'happy feet'. Erm well while it is one of the stranger kids films i have seen, its enjoyable, Robin Williams is funny, and it has some (surprisingly) strong messages about over fishing and pollution. In fact at one point it gets quite dark, and i heard some kids getting a bit destressed in the cinema while i was watching it. X-3
Finally got to see this last night. I'd say not as strong as the second, but better than the first. A good action romp, with some great dialogue, and set pieces. Overal i enjoyed it! Bob Roberts Saw this last week sometime for Media. A very witty look into American politics by Tim Robbins. I'd recommend this to anyone interested for a high brow comedy. I enjoyed it a lot myself. Part 1 of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather Technically a TV movie, but thought i'd mention it anyway. I just saw the first part, and i was impressed at how well they have captured Pratchett's discworld on screen. The cinematograhpy is highly impressive, and the costumes, make up, and effects all work well. Only let down is some of the dialogue dosn't translate well from the book, and parts are not very snappy so to speak. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? saw casino royale a week ago... pretty damn awesome i thought. first james bond i've seen that's actually physically suited to the role of 'highly trained british secret agent'. maybe im just thinking of pierce brosnan flailing his arms around whenever he got into a fight. either way the movie was sweet as.
pirates of the carribean dead mans chest - cant really remember what the first one was like but this wasn't too bad i guess. went on a bit longer than i'd expected but those squid/alien looking creatures on the flying dutchman (i think it was?) looked pretty damn cool. full props to whoever created them. the big one i wanted to mention though.. miami vice. if you haven't seen this movie yet - dont. with tokyo drift taking the trophy for 'Worst Movie of All Time', this movie has got to be somewhere close behind. complete waste of money and exceedingly boring. you just know a movie sucks if half an hour into it you start wishing the movie would just end.. but nope it went on for another excruciating one and a half hours. its that bad. dont watch it unless you're monty and have bad taste in movies _______________ Brother to Luke Skywalker and (SKX) Dark Blade Lag Brother to Acey Spadey Jools is my best friend. <Henkes> nebody feeling like abusing me with a lightsaber?|+Smilykrazy grabs Gradius, beats the living CRAP out of him, then throws him into a huge vat of ACID |

Quote: Pan's Labyrinth
A fairy tale which is by no means for children. A very well put together movie, both cinematically and scriptwise - however.... ...This movie is desperately sad and moments of hope are few and far between. You don't get a reprieve. Even the colours of the sequences are sombre. For a 15 it is also very graphic, there are some scenes where you'd wince. I can guarantee that the final scenes will have you...well maybe not in tears but with a sad feeling in your chest. Sounds good. I saw the trailer for this a while back, and became interested, after reading a review i became really interested. Now i just want to see this movie. Badly. Oh yeah, i just saw Brick, and i must say i thoughroughly enjoyed it! Its been likened to Donnie Darko etc. due to its cult film hit with the critics status, however while it bears similarities, it differs in various ways. It is essentially a modern noir, set in an American College, however the dialogue is superbly written to make the cast seem like they could fit into any other noir film; for example in one scene where the protagonist Brendon is being questioned by the vice principle, i got the distinct impression this could just as easily of been a Private Investigator arguing with a Cop. It can be slow to get moving, but i found it engrossing from the start, the plot is twisty, starting with Brendon looking for his ex-girlfriend after she asks for his help, and leading him on a chase through the a drug ring underworld, populated by interesting characters. Its superbly well done, and the twists and directing style remind me at times of Christopher Nolan, acclaimed director of Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, and The Prestige. Summary: Watch it, its great. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? I went out and saw The Foutain today. It was like watching a dream unfold. The film is most definatly not for everyone but it certianly will stick in your head for years to come. I left the theater blown away. All the critics bashing it will have their foots in their mouths in the years to come. It's right up there with 2001: A Space Odessey.
Going to go see De'ja vu tomorrow when I wake up. I'm hoping the Denzel factor will kick in and it will be good. _______________ "We keep odd hours...." ----------------------- They Live, We Sleep |
