Little Miss Sunshine
Saw the movie about a week ago, it's a very well-done movie that features a hapless, rather distanced family trying to get to a beauty pageant for the seven year old daughter of the family. The acting is very good, especially by Steve Carrell who shows that he can be a drama man as well as the funniest man ever with his role as the suicidal uncle that has experienced a lot of things in his life. Greg Kinnear is great also as the father of a family with severe financial problems and just trying to get by. Children of Men Very depressing movie, yet inspiring and hopeful. I liked the take on the dystopian future and the storyline overall. The acting is all very, very strong by every actor. What I liked most about the movie was that it was very real, and instead of focusing on an overall political message on what should happen, it went straight to the pro-life message. |

Just saw Night at the Museum, and thought it was very funny, although I thought the ending was rushed. Nightmare before christmas.
Quirky animation at its very best. Everyone should watch this at least once. A Midsummer Nights Dream (Modern adaption) A surprisingly good film, based upon Shakespeare's classic, but adapted for a modern audience it stars Christian Bale, Kevin Kline, and Stanley Tucci among others. Worth a watch if you're bored, or a fan of Shakespeare and old English Language. Night at the Museum Above average comedy caper starring Ben Stiller, with appearences from Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, and Dick Van Dyke. Ranges from very funny, to not funny at all, but works ok as a piece of light entertainment. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? ok i watched a few movies heh so here goes
In Pursuit of Happyness ( yes typo but its spelt that way for a reason ) Will Smith is a brilliant actor, no one can really deny that, he chooses really good roles that suit his RL character and intrests, The movie was not overly accurate to the true story but as a movie it was extreely well made and very tear jerking at times, i even had tears in my eyes in places. Casting his RL son works perfect as u really feel the bond between them. DEFFINETLY WATCH IT if u get chance, Oh at the end watch out for the man in the suit that passes Will smith, thats the guy the movie is based on Night at a Museum, was good for what it was, a kids movie essentially, ben stiller is good as he usually is in that type of role, 24 Fans look out for kim reaver aka Audrey in 24. Very Predictable but enjoyable non the less. Watch it to pass some time Snake Eyes ( on TV over xmas ) Seen this long ago, i think its a great movie, they kinda give it away to quick but the camera work and script works well, if you like nic cage watch it for sure. 6TH DAY ( on sky at xmas ) Pretty fun arnie movie, the playful banter between him and his clone is funny as they are preparing to save the day. as always with arnie movies, a time wasting movie for sure. Hollow Man ( on Tv also over xmas ) I love this movie for 1 reason only, Kevin Bacon, he can act for sure, i love it when he plays a character that goes through a dramitic change on screen ( stir of echoes comes to mind as another ). Apprently there is some deep message in this movie about obbession with work so i hear from everyone who has seen it, but its just a thriller movie to me and a good one. Bypass the sequel tho with Christian slater as its dire. i think thats it lol, pretty sure i seen more but cant think, watching donnie brasco in bed later so heh might comment later on that who knows. Come on yall seen movies over the xmas period lets fill this thread some more _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are Best Movie Character EVER!! |

Eragon - Good bit of escapism, if a bit flawed.
Requiem For A Dream - Cinematically awesome, excellent screenplay and a dark bleak plot to match. Pure class. The Man - Flippin' hilarious. _______________ Proud owner of El Vee For's 200th Comment, and Wicek's 2600th comment DaMi3N's 400th, Trad Redav's 666th. |

Eragon- As a movie, it is meh.
As a recreation of the book, it is the biggest load of crap i've ever seen. The Pursuit of Happyness- Great movie, I love that it doesn't portray the stock brokers as mean guys, they are just like normal people. God that move was eh. I don't think they could have fit in more star wars parallels if they tried. Rather predictable too. Some parts I thought moved too fast and a couple areas dragged. Van Helsing Highly amusing, often for the wrong reasons and very silly, it still manages to be an enjoyable watch. A bit of a mish mash in places of different ideas, and the acting is patchy (but not as patchy as the dialogue),, i'm not sure why i enjoyed it, but i did, it must therefore, of been doing something right. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches?
