Question asked.

Question answered.

Opinions given by many.

Let him make up his own mind now. I'm not going to lock this thread, but I really don't want it turning into one of the traditional exploits threads where everyone and their dog gets offended and/or annoyed.

In my opinion, JumpinJedi made the best point...

Before you duel someone, ask if they mind if you used them, if they don't give a hoot, then go for it. :)

PS. I said I'm not going to lock this thread now, but if something silly happens, which I really hope it won't, then I will. Up to you guys, really. :)

ahaha lolz. yeah it's an exploit if you think about it strictly. but hey, so are a whole lot of other things. i haven't met a good dueler that fought "clean".

everyone does lil tricks to hit better; aim, movements, jumps, mouse movements, etc. if you don't wanna do extra dmg and fight to the cleanest extent possible, take you hands off your mouse and key board every time you click attack. That way you can be assured you are abiding by some unspoken rule.

But then, you'll also suck ass but hey u'll be clean.

Yeah man. I mean spinning and stuff is ridiculous but it's going too far. You may as well ban looking at the freaking monitor. :P

People sometimes do this stuff when they can't help it due to mouse sensitivity or whatever. I've been ripped to shreds when I played JK3 because I would twitch the mouse or whatever, because I had to have a massive sensitivity due to having less than an inch at either side of my mouse for movement.

The exploit arguement is just freaking lame. Bitch about war or famine, but not how people choose to play a video game. I've been away from this place for a while, and more importantly I haven't played the game in a while, and it's made me see things so clearly. If you don't like people doing it, don't duel 'em, or ask them not to. Whining about what people do in a video game makes you look really silly. In fact, alot of the people who do that have a disease to which the only cure is a social life and some sunshine. :P

Now shadap, relax, and go play JK3 and ENJOY it, because it's an awesome game with an awesome community... when it ISN'T going on about this kind of nonsense. Just have fun and loosen upppp. :)

I agree with JJ, this is a video game.

What fun would a game be if we went around disallowing anything and everything we couldnt beat just because we view it was an exploit. When you think about it hard, extensions are not exploits there are an untold move in the game that reflect the physics of the game. In real life If I were to swing a sword at you I could very well choose to not finish my swing and hold the sword in position ad mid swing then finish it off. Also extentions are nothing more than idle saber damage when you think of it, this is something that existed in jk2.

By defenition almost every unique dueling strategy used is an exploit so why not ban dueling? (you exploit the various advantages such as movement and moves to gain an advantage)

If you don't like it, learn to beat it.

And for thoes people who will respond "I shouldn't be forced to conform just to be good"
Thats life for you, almost every successful thing can be compared.t The best people at stuff like card games or even buisness use the same strategy, the difference is how they apply it.

Just ask when the duel starts if extentions or whatever else are okay. If not, don't use 'em. Simple solution to a simple problem, innitttt.

Show some tolerance people. It's only a video game. :P

I'm pretty sure exploits are allowed, just discouraged. It's best just to develop your own opinion on this, and then expect everyone else's to be different.

The word of the council has been stated on several threads such as this in the past.

It is viewed as an exploit, and as such is highly frowned upon. Thats the position that we have upheld for a long time.

You may have whatever personal views you wish on this. But thats the official stance of the council from well in the past.

And that should settle just about any argument on this particular issue.

[Edit]
Rushed writing. It is not disallowed, but it is considered an exploit. My misstake.

Stealth, if you click search, select message and type exploit, you'll see what happens when this is brought up.

I disagree, if we banned the use of anything up for discussion or debate, we wouldn't be using too many swings at all.

If something cant be agreed on it doesnt necessarily mean it shouldnt be allowed. An example is that earlier i heard someone speak about moves such a a forward swing and then a backflip. A move like that can cause huge amounts of damaage etc. and some people may not like it. The fact that some dont like it while others do(thus the disagreement) should not be the deciding factor that says the move shouldnt be allowed...

But thats what I think anyways, so dont listen :P
