Sony Press Conference E3 officially starts Wednesday, but the action started today with the Sony press conference. Some pretty big announcements about the PS3 were made. Watch Here. It runs for about 2 hours, most of it is just the usual junk about HD and Blue-Ray and all that. Lots of game trailers and demos from both first and third party developers. Here are the main points: -Price is officially set at $499 USD for the 20GB model, and $599 for the 60GB model. -Release date is set at November 17 in the USA. -The controller will be motion sensing just like the Wii controller. Design is exactly the same as the PS2 controller. Is actually lighter than the PS2 controller. -It will have an online community with profiles, rankings, text and video chats, ect, for free. -It will integrate seamlessly with the PSP. Examples include using the PSP as your rear-view mirror in a racing game. It's looking to me like the PS3 will be kicking some serious ass. Nintendo Press Conference Not as big of a show as Sony's, but still some signifigant progress. Watch Here This one's only about an hour long. More announcements about the controller were made. It will have a speaker right on it that can be used in conjunction with the tv's speakers to create fade out or fade in effects. Also, in addition to the main controller being motion sensitive, the joystick attachment will also have its own motion sensing. The controller will have a rumble feature, unlike the PS3's. They are still keeping quiet about price and release date, except for saying it will be Q4 2006. Also they had demos of the next Zelda, Red Steel, Mario, and other games. Another big announcement was made concerning the Wii's online functionality. Apparently the Wii will be able to stay connected to the internet 24/7, allowing developers to send you new content even while the console is off. It's trying to emulate a classic controller. For example: Instead of following the movements of your hand and translating them directly and immediately to the in-game character's movements, it waits for a move it recognizes and only after the move has completed, the character performs a "pre-recorded" move. i.e. it tries to translate a gesture into a single-action just like a classic controller translates a button tap to a single-action. For more information you can check out IGN Wii's preview of Red Steel, where the problem is discussed in more detail. Red Steel is the ONLY game so far that uses this cheap trick. Some people think that Ubisoft only used this gimmick because their true-3D controls were not ready yet to make the demo. I personally think that Ubisoft is planning to port this game to other platforms and thus needs to make it less dependent on location awareness. The Wii controller CAN and DOES sense its location and orientation in 3D space, most games will use this ability just "as we think it will".  |

I'm pretty sure Sony will do just fine, they had way more people buy the PS2 than GC and Xbox. Yea, Nintendo might make money on the console or at least not lose as much, but they can't shake off the stereotype that their games are for kids. Then they're pretty much screwed... Be rich like me and buy all 3  i really enjoy my xbox 360, live is so simple to navigate and to invite friends to instantly join your multiplayer game is refreshing and some of the games are awesome, like Ghost Recon which yes is now out on pc but u need a beast of a machine to run it aswell as the 360 shows it off at. They do what they are made for, they play games, all the other stuff is just gimmicks and i dont use them, i use my DIVX/DVD standalone for movies and a ipod for music and my pc for photos .. _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are

Also it seems Lucasarts is showing their lineup for E3 at their main page. No new Jedi Knight game it seems. I believe that Nintendo, unlike Microsoft and Sony are actually going to be able to start making profit immediately when someone purchases a game. No console never owns Xbox 360 and that is the fact. Xbox's live system.....and that how you can play it for free There is some server emulation what people have created like own xbox live system...I think It is legal for now, but I am sure that Microsoft will make some correction for it. I have Xbox but I don't use Xbox live system and I don't use also that emulation system just play with Xbox......If you looking games what is service for Xbox.
