I just can't believe Graham Poll gave somebody three yellow cards before sending him off. Alex, you're right. Only a British referee could to that . Brazil STARTED to look like World Cup winners. Not yet, but they're getting there. Especially Ronaldo. -Well played to the *cough* Socceroo's, however i felt Croatia were unlucky, if they had not made the tactical mistake of playing so deep after the second goal i feel they would of came out on top. Great match though, very lively last 15 minutes especially, oh and the ref was hilarious, only an english ref could be so daft as to yellow card a player three times! -Brave attempt Japan, but not quite enough it seems Brasil still do not look like world cup winners, however their finishing is certainly superb.As Stephen Appiah of Ghana said of his team "We are not afraid of any team. We are Africa's Brazil." I have to agree, Crouch is certainly not a bad player, but he is not world class either. Average at best no offence to liverpool fans. He just does not have the technical ability that some players do at the world cup, and this would let us down later on in the competition. Sure he has put away some goals against Jamaica and Trinidad, but this does not mean he has become a world class striker. While i personally think Owen is overrated, you can't argue that he has scored plenty of goals for england, and is experienced. Regardless Owen is out, so that matters little in the big picture. I would like to see Erikson try a different formation myself, although i still think England would work well in a variation of 3-5-2 myself The big issue i have with the way England have gone about this world cup, is Erikson's team choices, well two to be precise. He left out one striker, taking only four, this would not of been a problem, if he had not also gambled by 1)bringing Rooney despite the question marks over his fitness, 2)Made Owen the #1 striker despite the question marks over his match fitness (he had only played six hours of football all year), and 3)Bringing Theo Walcott, who is inexperienced at premiership level let alone champions league or international. The inclusion of Walcott made a mockery of the idea you have to earn your place in the England squad.
