Cuzza first of all relax. First ur trying to defend English team and say that it was lucky that Portugal got through and ur offensive to its plahyers, [explain me the result 3-1 then]
Then ur starting to offense other members for their opinion trying to convince them to your own.
This thread has become 'world cup war' thread o.O Realize that English has been sent to home as many other teams and focus on the future. Now we have Ita-Ger and Fra-Por.
As for Beckham i think that he cried not of pain but of fact that it's his last WC...but i still think he suck lol :P
cheers and remember the Nike's adverts [advertisements?] with Cantona :) It's about beaty , joy and blah blah blah :)

The whole point of having an opinion when somebody else has an opinion is to try and persuade and convince the other person to agree with your opinion... :o

actually to express an opinion isnt trying to get someone to agree with you or make them believe your opinion over there own, that would be a arguement to some degree, an opinion is what you believe to be true in the matter and is in no way intended to enlighten the other person. that would be a a fact not an opinion

Thank god Brazil are out. Zidane's performance for France last night was the best performance in a match I've ever seen, by any player.

Who's opinion did I bash? I disagreed with it, simple as. I bitched at Saz because he called me a weirdo. The reason I'm disagreeing with somebody else is because their opinion is invalid. Why? Because he's got the wrong end of the stick about Beckham. He thought that it was because he got injured when in actual fact it was because it was his last World Cup (as captain)

Does anyone else feel like the refs are way too deciding in the matches?

I personally feel like they've influenced alot of the matches in a way the FIFA might actually like it best.

Just wondering if you feel the same.

I totally feel that way. The refs have been pissing me off! hehe :D

Well this has been an interesting day for football.

I hope Eriksson took Rooney out back after the match and slapped him silly. Seriously, show some restraint damn it. You don't start pushing and shoving at a world cup quarter finals! Silly sod. Oh well, I guess he isn't too worried seeing as he can try again in four years. Too bad he had to ruin it all for the likes of Beckham. Oh it would have been sweet to see the bastard lift the cup.

And don't even get me started about Brazil. I didn't expect them to go all the way, but against France? Overconfident bastards.

Oh well. Germany it is. HEIL DEUTSCHLAND! :P

lol, my posts always end up with everyone mad at me:P

I honestly didn't know his injury was that bad. And anyway, I was just using that as an example of another soccer player crying. I wasn't trying to bash Beckham, I was trying to bash soccer players in general. And before you go nuts about me saying that, I respect the fact that they have to be in very good shape, but they just fake getting hurt way too much.

And Cuzza weren't you bitching about Saz insulting your opinions just a bit ago?:P

Crying because of injury is baby-ish?

Maybe I should come to your house and saw off both of your arms, then we'll see if you can keep a straight face.

How daft.

Crying because someone stepped on your foot is just stupid, but crying because someone dislocated your ankle is justified, don't you think?

Besides, this was Beckham's last World Cup. He doesn't get to play in any more and he had to leave the pitch because of an injury not halfway thorugh the game - and you're calling him a baby?

Dude, you cry when I amslap you, don't even start on Beckham. :P

But crying because of any injury is still baby-ish. And yes I realize he was probably crying because of not getting to play rather than the pain.

You must have contradicted yourself a hundred times in that paragraph (exagguration by the way).

It's not baby-ish. You've came into this thread thinking "Oh great, football. It's just a game" But to the players who get paid these massive amounts of money have so much pressure on their shoulders from the fan's high expectations.

Seriously, football isn't really "just a game" anymore, or atleast not at this level.

You honestly think he was crying because of that? How moronic. He was clenching his ankle. That was the end of his World Cup, even if England went through to the final...

I hate to see any game come down to a shoot out. But I guess after 120 minutes of playing you have to get a winner somehow lol. :D

I felt bad for England. I do think some of the players on Portugal are big babies, and try to get cheap penalty calls by falling down and throwing their arms in the air constantly. But most teams do that it seems. I just think Portugal is more obnoxious then most when it comes to that. I wanted to give a few of the players a tissue to cry in.

and OMG! Brazil lost?!?! I didnt expect that! I didnt really care who won that game but am shocked Brazil is out. :D

England are not a World Class team. We have a team of World Class players, but we're not a World Class team.

Can I just get something off my chest by the way...?

CHRISTIANO RONALDO NEEDS TO BE SHOT. That'll give him something to f*cking cry about...f*cking baby. You see soldiers dying in Iraq and places like that and he falls over on the floor and he's in tears. Unbe-f*cking-lievable.

England's match had so much irony.

Owen Hargreaves gets booed when he's brought on in friendlies. And yet he scores a penalty while Lampard and Gerrard miss.

For weeks we have headlines concering whether Wayne Rooney will be "fit" for the world cup. And then he goes and gets sent off.

And Christiano Ronaldo scoring the final penalty was just a final kick in the shins.

Anyway, Germany to win.

If the result was 0-0 till extra time that means both teams were equal.
But...
Portugal in Penalty Shoot Outs showed class... especially Ricardo who saved all shots except Heargreaves's which he only touched.
Now its time for one of the most interesting match : Fra-Bra , i have to say that i cheer for both teams ;)
