I've had this media of the new and final vlad map on hand for a while and decided that I've waited long enough for it to get cobwebs  .
I would like some feedback and comments on the media I am about to release or the first part of the Vlad V2 map. **UPDATE** Vlad V2 and a much smaller project of higher quality has begun, its been over 2 months since an update on the project which has been progressing for what appears to be 6 months now. The project has endured hacks (On the webserver) destroying all media, crashing hard drives and exploding computers in the space of 6 months. Now the entire project has been taken away from the source engine and down dated to Version 1.5. The new platform will be of all thing a modelling application (3Ds Max 8) on the Vray renderer (A comercial update to Mental Ray). There won't be HDR but expect a much higher quality version and high detail version! There will be no release of this copy except for the video its self which will be available for download. Questions and ideas are greatly appreciated and expect media extremely soon! -Update One- (29-12-2006) Its only a few days before new years and I felt that a minor update on the great progress achieved so far should be shown here. 
-Grass- I have found a way to create a grass effect on the hills surrounding the memorial its self and it should pose to be a great replacement as the video will show it up close and personal. -Imported Models and Refraction- From reading through Virtues Lightsaber Hilt tutorial I learnt that you can indeed import the model format (.MD3) used in JK3 to be used for different purposes. One of course being the creation of your own hilt and in my case to re-use it in this scene. The crystal held in the statues hands is in fact an older copy as currently the crystal refracts objects on the other side of it along with reflecting objects directly opposite of its faces. This method of effect used is called Raytracing. So far I've managed to make the crystals refraction move in waves as if the crystal was enriched with force energy as you could imaging. The model is also used in the Single Player map t3_rift. It couldn't be in a more better place. Here is a shot from the middle of the memorial towards the exit to the academy crossroads. I've decided that theres going to be three maps in the tribute video. The second map is already being created, the third map is going to be slightly different. I am hoping that the JA community can submit ideas on what they want the 3rd map to look like and even give in designs in which I will combine to create some thing that every thing can be proud of. So far I've got an idea of what I want in the tribute and already decided on the music to be played and whats to be seen on screen through out. I've decided on a music track by Don Davis from the Matrix sound track (Don't worry nothing techno). Thats all for now, you may as well start coming up with ideas and suggestions for map 3.
