im pretty mad, because i was tring to uninstall the game, and i did, but then when i tried to reinstall it three times, it froze after it got to 1% each time, if u guys could give me some suggestions i would appreciate it, and if it makes any difference my game is the old 1.00 version when i install it, and i need to get the 1.01 if i can install it again, i just thought that might help if u know something about it? i would appreciate it thx guys _______________ Monday September 4th, 2006 R.I.P. guys thx for the help and suggestions, but i tried them all, and it just isnt working out , i will be getting my new game in 2 days, and i think i probably should, because i have had this copy for 4 years about, and i have run it so many times on this computer it probably just isnt reading it anymore, i play it almost every day in the summer , and the new version will alrdy have 1.01 on it so im hoping that that will make the game load quicker also, because on the old version i had to download the update, and it always froze alot, or sent me back to windows, so i think this will be better for me to do! thx again for all the help guys u the best!!!!  _______________ Monday September 4th, 2006 R.I.P. Hmm well tbh i dont think the regisrty stuff causes ANY problems, they r just harmless as junk, get it? ;P
Anyway i have an idea...well it does the same 4 me if my antivirus (NAV 2005) scans the compressed files from the cd, this just slows the installation, but i only have 2 deactivate it, so it wont slow the progress 
Try 2 deactivate ur av, and c what happens... i hope that'll help  |

I am with Sho, try remove all data about JKA from the registry.
Run regedit and use the seach option: Edit-Find/Search (I am not sure my Winsuck is not english )or Crtl-F. |

However, downloading is not the same, so I will have to go with Virtue on this one. the legal version is to make backups of data you have the right of own.
For example this can be as simple as putting a text file you've written onto a disc as the text file was always yours but it also relates to copying, for your own use software you have bought such as programs or games. I've done this a few times with things I didn't want to buy twice but knew I'd use a lot like Windows or World of Warcraft. But downloading is to gain a new, illegitimate copy of something you once owned, not backing up something you already had. _______________ I fite for teh usars!1 |

If you think it's your cd-drive and you have that other computer on a Lan with the one you want to install the game on, you can install from another computer's cd-drive, just takes some admin rights and sharing.
Like others have said, clean the registry. I myself have a program that can detect registry entries that are no longer used and remove them. You can go back to the store and ask for a replacement, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. If nothing else works, you can download, as you've paid for the permission to use the product. Picking up a copy in the store is just one way of getting the data to you. _______________ 362 Ohi on! |

I'm sure that by "clean the registry", he meant: "wipe any old data from the registry that is no longer relevant". For example, you may delete a program, but it leaves registry entries that are no longer needed to help the program to run - in this case, the entries would no longer be relevant and there would be no harm caused by removing them. |

It could be that you uninstalled it the wrong way.
I mean if you just deleted the folder then the game probably have files and/or things in the registy left.
