Problem with The Academy

I downloaded The Academy v2, and I put it into my gamedata/base folder, and I removed The Academy v1 and threw it into the recycling bin. However, now in the level select, above The Jedi Academy v2, it says The Jedi Academy, and when I click on it, it takes me back to the main menu.

I was just thinking a couple of minutes ago about this and realised that it would be possible if a new pk3 file were created containing an empty the_academy.arena file to replace the original in the_academy_v2.pk3. This method would not require you to actually edit the original file. As long as the name of the new pk3 starts with a letter after T, the game will load it after it's loaded the original (files are loaded in alphabetical order), hence overwriting the old data with the new, non-existant data (the game no longer has anything to tell it to display the old version).

Anyway, I made a file which does exactly this. You can download it here. :)

You can remove the first version from the level selection screen, but it would require editing the_academy_v2.pk3, which will prevent you from entering the academy servers, as the game will expect you to have the exact, unedited version of the_academy_v2.pk3.

Are there any versions that don't have "The Jedi Academy v1" on the level select?

Is there any way to make it so just The Academy Version 2 appears on the level select menu?

That's because Virtue didn't remove the_academy.arena from the_academy_v2.pk3. In other words, the new version of the map includes the menu file for the old map and because the old map isn't included and you removed the original from your base folder, the game has nothing to load when you choose "The Jedi Academy". Just ignore that it is there or reinstall version 1 if you would like it to work.
