What other games do you guys play?
I'm going to buy Raven Shield soon, and maybe Vietcong as well. Does no one playing any older games???? like with an Emulator and stuff??/ I doo, and I think it's still better thatn new games, better gameplay. Like Final Pantasy, breath of fire, etc. And at school I am payng streetrod. well, I still consider the original X-Wing the best flight sim ever.

Once in a while, I still like to play Rogue Squadron. Pretty cool game.
Does ne1 play X-Wing Alliance? I want to play online, but there are no servers for it. They have X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter servers (which is an older game) but not Alliance.

Mind of Sin: the demo of Black Hawk Down had cheats and things in it i'll agree, however they have been rectified for the full release.
Whilst admittedly the long grass has gone it would not be true to the story line to have it in there - there isn't huge amounts of grass in Somalia. The long range combat is still in there both for the multiplayer and the single player, there are some great missions where you are sniping from a black hawk - however the developers have also tried to keep it true to the real engagements that surrounded task force ranger and also other misssions (they discussed missions with true delta force operatives). This has meant that there are some close quarter engagements as well - Of course a lot of the battles you fight are within the cities (so there is less long range combat in this respect). The cities are done really well there can be huge problems identiying civilians from militia (also true to life) - although there are less militia than i would have liked - the point i got from the film was that the soldiers were truly mobbed by the shear numbers of militia - whilst there are plenty of targets and the franticness is still there - i feel they could have shoved a few more enemies in there (Of course i probably couln't run it then - my pc being a bit old a dodgy). The other thing about the cities is the fact that the civilians don't want you there - they chuck rocks and things at you. Seriously i think that this is a huge step forward for the franchise - the AI is much better than previously, the graphics are better, the vehicles are awesome and the missions are well thought out. All in all i think it's a great game and i would recommend you give it a go. ...Damn i've written a bloody review here _______________ Support bacteria, they're the only culture some people have. |

Mistral - I don't have an Amiga emulator, so I don't know. You might want to Google for some. Or you can start looking from Zophar's Domain ( http://www.zophar.net ). They only have emulators there, but they have a lot of links that may be helpful.

Black Hawk Down? Gah, not if it was free!
Novalogic doesn't care. DF1 was good, DF2 was great, then they started churning out crap. The DEMO had cheaters. The full game probably does as we speak. The long range combat/grass are gone. That's exactly right Buzz. The thing never got released in my country but I eventually got one on Ebay.
Got lots of emulators/roms too but for portable gaming the Nomad is almost perfect. I've got an Amiga emu but not a lot of software, any idea where I could get more Billy? |

Mistral - what's a Nomad? Is it like a console that plays multiple games? I just d/l the emulator and the game ROMs and I can play all the oldies on my PC. I can even play the arcade games.

I'm currently playing Unreal 2, Generals(I feel the same Bubu, too simple/easy, RA2 was more fun) and GTA Vice City on PS2. Hoping to play Devil May Cry 2 next week.
I still play lots of oldies too Billy, got myself a Nomad a couple of months back and I can't see me getting bored with it any time soon.  |

I've had the urge to play Metal Gear Solid 2 lately, but my NEIGHBOR borried it and put 3 big ole scratches in it. *Sigh. As of now, I play some Counter-Strike every once and a while and just got off an FFVII frenzy. Level 50 by the end of Midgar. I have no life... I haven't played anything for the last week or so, but here's my other addictions: Ep.1 Podracer Moon Project Homeworld Cataclysm 1602 AD Roller Coaster Tycoon Sinistar: Unleashed (had it at CompUSA for 89¢!) Emulators(Atari, Commodore64, N64, Sega Genesis, MAME32, NES and Super NES) I generally stick with the games on the $10 rack, so I'm a little behind the times. Perfect Dark, Super Smash Brothers, Tekken 3, Final Fantasy Mistic quest, Flashback,then there is BG TOB, and I go a lot to a friend where we play, SW Bounty Hunter, Metroids Prime, Halo, Splinter Cell, Super Smash brother Melee, I think that was it....Mmmm.... ow yea, at school: Motor Cross Madnis 2 and Counter Strike. wow, that's a lot.....
