Ahem, they can both stop time. What is an hour to you could be weeks to them. I am sure that the writers of the show were well aware that learning a simple Katana Kata could take months.

unlikely. No two heroes have been shown to have the same abilities yet. And the powers of the parent do not translate to being the powers of the children.
ah since there is no precedence there is no possibility? Hmmm guess there isn't any chance for a "first time" from that point of view.

I will reconsider...

...Since Hiro can stop time and travel through time it isn't unreasonable to think that he is infact older than any calendar could possibly measure. With the brief trips he has made through time its entirely possible that Hiro doesn't even know his true age, he certainly can't use a birthday to measure it.

If Hiro truly wanted to learn sword technique in time to stop Sylar he would have naturally used his powers to extend the amount of time he had into the amount of time he needed.

He would have to be a complete noob not to!

Is that better B?

Hiro can stop time so both of them can move freely, maybe he did that.

Apparently Takei actually is quite skilled with a sword too. So if he's following any choreography instead of actual moves, its likely done by him.

I think Molly has a similar genetic condition as Shanti, Mohinder's sister. This condition surpresses her ability to use her superpower (locate other people with powers). If there was a way to replicate this genetic condition/virus, it could act as a "cure," similar to the one seen in X-men 3. From the episode set in the future, Mohinder eventually develops a vaccine (forgot what they/Nathan called it) that leads to genocide, so it could be inferred that Molly Walker's current genetic condition was a critical component to this "vaccine."

ah right.. i always just assumed hiro had the power to stop time but still be able to un-freeze whoever he needed to talk to, but that makes more sense.

So when he meets Hiro on the train shouldn't that power have manifested itself in some way as well? There hasn't been even a hint of it so far

Yes it did manifest. That's why everyone else was frozen in time yet Hiro and Peter were talking. It had an immediate effect, just like with the invisible man.

Roger, but about the Peter thing I'm still a little unconvinced. Every time he's come near a person with a power he's absorbed it from them straight away, usually with difficulty controlling it. So that's Claire, Parkman, Nathan, invisible guy, Sylar, Isaac (with less difficulty) and the moment he got near Ted in that last episode his hands started burning up. So when he meets Hiro on the train shouldn't that power have manifested itself in some way as well? There hasn't been even a hint of it so far.

Also just realised this as I was typing... the parallel between Molly and the kid in X-men who suppresses peoples powers. Didn't we already have that link with the Haitian? People can't use their powers around him. Molly's condition thus far only applies to herself.

Just watched the latest episode... few things came to mind:

1) How did Sylar stop Hiro from cutting him up? Did Hiro just chicken out? Actually, shouldn't the whole Sylar business just end with Hiro? If his sword's broken why can't he just get a knife or something, stop time again and then kill Sylar?

2) Why is it that Peter can absorb everyones powers but not Hiros? Why can't he stop time as well?

3) At the end of the ep Peter goes looking for Ted and Bennett... did he bring those two back after Claire cried or did they just *happen* to run into each other? Kind of a huge coincidence to bump into them in the middle of New York, right? It can happen though I guess.

4) Same as R2, Molly reminded me of Cerebro and that kid who neutralises peoples powers in X-men.

Also, Candice is pretty awesome. She's got this dangerousness about her but with a big smile on her face.

Sylar didn't stop Hiro's power. Hiro was so nervous that he lost control.

Peter likely has absorbed Hiro's power, he just hasn't figured out how to use it properly.

Where Bennet and co. have run into claire and peter is the location that Linderman's operation in New York is located. There's no random coincidence there, peter believes that's ground zero and bennett believes that's where they need to go.

There are plenty of x-men comparisons. But then X-men has a huge list of mutants with almost ever conceivable power. The reason it clicks so quickly with x-men is because of the nature of the gaining the powers: evolutionary mutation.

1) Pretty sure Hiro chickened out. He couldn't kill someone who was trying to repent, and when the time came to do it, he couldn't bring himself to kill Sylar. I think Sylar broke out of the time freeze for 1 or 2 seconds, but this could have been because the sword touched him?

As for the sword, Hiro believes it helps him control his powers and focus them. Channels his superpower in a way? I'm pretty sure I saw Hiro's dad in the preview, perhaps he'll help him with the sword.

2) Peter can stop time and teleport like Hiro, just that he hasn't learned to control those powers very well yet. The future Peter is rather pro at Hiro's powers.

3) Yea, I thought it was a coincidence as well. Maybe we missed something earlier in the Peter-Claire conversations?

1) The way i saw it Hiro lost concentration as he tried to kill Sylar (he is not a killer at this point remember), thus his power stopped. A similar thing happened when he went to kiss Charlie and he ended up in Japan because he lost control. For Hiro control and concentration seem to be everything. As for the other thing, Hiro still believes he can only truly access his power by using the sword.

2) Peter could stop time in the future. Has he even met Hiro in the past yet? They have spoken but keep getting prevented from meeting, like in Texas. If they have then presumably its one of the powers Pete hasn't been able to learn to control yet.

3) Ted, Matt and Bennet are looking for the 'walking locater' thing at that point, i have a feeling it will turn out to be in the office of the company that is in that square of New York (where Suresh is), in fact i think it will be that girl Suresh just saved.

Candice is a coolio character although i fear she may not be around by the end of the series if Sylar finds her like he did in the future :P However in the future Sylar also had DL and Nathan's powers...

Hmm i didn't catch the preview i've been avoiding them recently for all the shows i watch.

Yeah i agree about the X-men similarity, i think they have to be careful not to have too many of them as the show walks very similar ground (although with more interesting characters in my opinion).

One thing though, did i miss something or could Mohinders father not have just used a different healthy childs blood to save Shanti rather than wait for Mohinder to be born?

The bomb thing is interesting because we know it was originally Peter that explodes (and i can't help but wonder how he survived because if the brain is damaged regeneration dosn't work?) yet he is unlikely to blow up in the next episode. I guess he could have a scrap with Sylar which causes him to lose control and thats why Hiro being able to kill Sylar would save the day but i'm not sure really.

The tragedy about Molly is of course that The Company want to use her to track Matt, Ted & co, so she may be in danger again shortly.

Molly Walker reminds me a lot of Cerebro from X-men.

And the fact that her blood contains a virus that could supress superpowers is quite similar to the "cure" from X-men 3. I liked how Mohinder's sister had a similar condition as Molly, so we know Mohinder will be more driven to help her out.

As for Ted, he has gotten his powers under control, so he isn't always a nuclear threat. I wonder if Parkman, Bennett, or Ted can help Peter learn how to control this new power.

Did anyone notice Hiro's dad in the preview for the next episode?

Yatta!

Awesome show, the human bomb thing is turning into a dangerous version of pass the parcel on a huge scale. :P

Mohinder and Hiro for the win. :) Quite like Matt but his future self was nasty.

Oh and in defence of Parkman it seemed to me that a lot had gotten skewed in that future timeline, Hiro himself was seen as a terrorist and had apparently done some pretty bad stuff. Under that kind of influence it seemed to bring out his worse side, there have been references to the 'heroes' going bad throughout the series as well.

I bet i'm the only one here who actually thinks Sprague is an okay guy by the way haha. There seems to be a strong redemption theme in Heroes, Bennet, Niki, Isaac, Sylar (although he dosn't redeem himself he tries), even Nathan - he has a chance to show that he is not the callous politician he appears and to show he cares (as Hiro pointed out).
