Hope there isn't already a thread about this... has anyone else been watching this show? Just watched the first 11 episodes and I think it's freaken awesome; plot, characters, super powers - all of it. I'm hearing Season 1 continues this Monday. Any takers?

I think Kensei might be Hiro's father. His face and eyes pretty much looked like his dad's. Of course I might be wrong, he had his helmet on after all.
It seems probable that at some point a genetic link between Kensei and Hiro will emerge.

Too bad he doesn't qualify. Molly located him so HRG could find him.

It could still be future Peter. After all, he's had contact with Hiro now - who knows, five years from now, how many other powers he has absorbed?

But yeah, it's probably a new character. I'm excited!

I was happy to see Charles (Simone's dad) in the finale. Perhaps he has a power similar to the Indian boy, helping Peter choose which path to take. However, it did appear Peter may have gone back to the past and appear invisible to everyone except Charles.

I enjoyed the finale mainly due to all the heroes converging to the showdown. The Peter vs Sylar fight (well not much of one) wasn't very exciting except for Nikki slamming Sylar with the pole. Hiro's blind jump into the past shows some of the common symbols seen through out the episodes: the eclipse and half helix.

I'm pretty sure Nathan is dead, but Peter may return ;) imo.

I thought I heard Sylar's heart stop beating, but it appears he either escaped or was rescued, maybe by this more evil person. When Molly referred to the evil man the first time, it reminded me of how Sauron's evil eye gets drawn to anyone that wears the ring :P

Good finale!

Yeah the finale was awesome. I think the thing with the Sylar/Peter fights so far has been a case of them almost cancelling each other out, both have an aray of powers although Peter's are much more defensive (as is generally the case with these sorts of hero/villain fights) and he hasn't fully discovered his potential yet.

I loved it when Nikki came over and punched Sylar, her character has become much more likeable in the final few episodes. In fact the whole thing with the 'heroes' slowly meeting each other was handled really well.

*spoilers*

I don't think Parkman will die, despite appearences, shows like Heroes usually make it clear a character is dead in that episode if they are to die. Plus he has a pregnant wife. Not sure how he'll survive all those bullets though, although DL made an interestingly fast recovery once Mohinder got there... Unless it was just the Linderman brain goop on his hand :P

I saw the Nathan thing coming but still it was most sad, a true sacrifice. Although you always have to be suspicious of an offscreen 'death'. Wonder whats up with those visions (?) Peter is experiencing too, Charles' power he absorbed? Or something/one else?

Hiro actually did it, yatta! Shame Sylar is like all good comic book villains... a survivor. Or was he rescued?

I too noticed the reference to an even bigger bad than Sylar, seems they are already setting up stuff for future stories. Oh and Hiro in ancient Japan = brilliant :D

Bring on season 2!

Loved the finale - many great moments. I was hoping for a slightly bigger "bang" to the Peter/Sylar fight but it was still great. Can't wait for Season 2!

I am prolly going out on a limb here but..

Sylar's Father?

I like the way the show ended, finished a good story well. Very comic book, uncertain doom, ending. I am happy and can wait out the summer for this series to return.

I didn't want to read up on this thread before, but I've finally caught up with all the episodes. That last one was amazing. Things are really starting to come together. Can't wait for the finale!

HUGE spoiler picture about the finale that's going to air tonight, I'm serious, it'll spoil a lot about Season 2, but if you're desperate to see it click it!

Adding the new series will allow NBC extend the reach of the Heroes brand to a combined 30 episodes, with the new show running during Heroes ' long hiatus. The series took a ratings hit after returning from a seven-week absence this season.

Oh not sure if its been posted here but its been confirmed Heroes will get a second season, it will be titled 'Generations' (the first chapter being titled 'Genesis') and will have 24 episodes.

The creator has said that "those heroes that survive" will be joined by one or two new heroes, including one particularly major new person. Judging by the last episode theres going to be no holding back where character killing is considered. I believe its also been said that some episodes will focus on the history of the Petrelli and Nakamura families and the other older generation members.

Lastly there will also be a spin off series called Heroes: Origins. This show will apparently be six episodes long and will act as a way of introducing some new heroes. Once Origins finishes viewers will be allowed to vote for one of these new heroes to become part of the main cast in season 3. Interesting idea.
Information like this should have a link to the source.

Sounds like freshman series is getting too big for its britches already. They need focus on good stories and awesome plot line intersections.

Dealing with Hiro's possible aging is getting into multiple possibilities. I believe futur Hiro has been shown that Hiro does age. I would say that when he is in place in time he is aging normally. He is however at least 6 months older than everyone else. Ando would be a few days older due to his time spent in the future. The main question is what happens to Hiro when he stops time. Does he enter a state of temporal flux where he is unaffected by time while time does not move around him, so while time has stopped his aging has stopped. Also what is the extent of his powers. Does he completely freeze the entire space-time continuum or merely an area around him. If he does freeze it completely what about people who would be able to notice this, such as Peter who due to his contact with future Hiro would make him able to exist outside of time as Hiro. Would he need to be in proximity to hiro for this to work?
Hiro would have to age, as would anybody else that he has selected to be free from the effects of his powers.

Thing is how could he keep track of his age? Not that it really matters for the sake of the story but we have gone beyond that now haven't we.

Great episode! Anyone else notice that while Hiro learnt a lot from his father he seemed to miss one of the main things i felt he was trying to tell him with the story etc. - That he has to be willing to sacrifice Ando if he is to defeat Sylar?

I think thats why F.Hiro seemed so changed and different, it was because he had a part in Ando's death. I'm wondering whether it is shown on that scrap of the 9th Wonders comic from the future - the scrap F.Hiro gave Ando.

I'm also wondering whether Sylar will get to Candice and Nathan before Peter gets to Sylar... Afterall isn't Sylar still planning on becoming president?

I found it amusing that of the two choices Mohinder knocked out the one who was more likely to sort things out peacefully. :P I don't think Bennett can kill a little girl though.

I like the way Heroes isn't afraid to kill people, Thompson being the latest. That said Lost could be set for a killing spree in the finale...

I mourn Ted's loss...

Boom heheh.

What I'm saying is that his father demonstrates a move for him, offers him some instruction on it, then Hiro freezes time to learn it, he then unfreezes time and shows that he has learned then its rinse repeat.

If time were indeed frozen during that whole training montage, that wouldn't explain why Ando was impatient enough to go out and try to kill Sylar himself.

I'm going to just assume it's something the writers did to keep up the pacing of the show. "24" does it a lot, with the traveling across the U.S. in one hour.

ah since there is no precedence there is no possibility? Hmmm guess there isn't any chance for a "first time" from that point of view.

I will reconsider...

...Since Hiro can stop time and travel through time it isn't unreasonable to think that he is infact older than any calendar could possibly measure. With the brief trips he has made through time its entirely possible that Hiro doesn't even know his true age, he certainly can't use a birthday to measure it.

If Hiro truly wanted to learn sword technique in time to stop Sylar he would have naturally used his powers to extend the amount of time he had into the amount of time he needed.

He would have to be a complete noob not to!

Is that better B?

There is the possibility that his father has the same ability, but based on the other Heroes, the chances are minute.

Would he need to be in proximity to hiro for this to work?

Lots of possibilities and questions to ask. Most probably won't get answered because if they go too sci-fi into lots of detail early on you could start to turn people off of the show.

And yes Hiro would be very smart to receive instruction from his father and then train in the technique with time frozen afterwards.
