Hope there isn't already a thread about this... has anyone else been watching this show? Just watched the first 11 episodes and I think it's freaken awesome; plot, characters, super powers - all of it. I'm hearing Season 1 continues this Monday. Hmm i didn't catch the preview i've been avoiding them recently for all the shows i watch.
Yeah i agree about the X-men similarity, i think they have to be careful not to have too many of them as the show walks very similar ground (although with more interesting characters in my opinion). One thing though, did i miss something or could Mohinders father not have just used a different healthy childs blood to save Shanti rather than wait for Mohinder to be born? The bomb thing is interesting because we know it was originally Peter that explodes (and i can't help but wonder how he survived because if the brain is damaged regeneration dosn't work?) yet he is unlikely to blow up in the next episode. I guess he could have a scrap with Sylar which causes him to lose control and thats why Hiro being able to kill Sylar would save the day but i'm not sure really. Molly Walker reminds me a lot of Cerebro from X-men.
And the fact that her blood contains a virus that could supress superpowers is quite similar to the "cure" from X-men 3. I liked how Mohinder's sister had a similar condition as Molly, so we know Mohinder will be more driven to help her out. As for Ted, he has gotten his powers under control, so he isn't always a nuclear threat. I wonder if Parkman, Bennett, or Ted can help Peter learn how to control this new power. Awesome show, the human bomb thing is turning into a dangerous version of pass the parcel on a huge scale. 
Mohinder and Hiro for the win.  Quite like Matt but his future self was nasty. 
Oh and in defence of Parkman it seemed to me that a lot had gotten skewed in that future timeline, Hiro himself was seen as a terrorist and had apparently done some pretty bad stuff. Under that kind of influence it seemed to bring out his worse side, there have been references to the 'heroes' going bad throughout the series as well. I bet i'm the only one here who actually thinks Sprague is an okay guy by the way haha. I think that they can change the future. Remember Hiro tried going back to actively change the past, and just because charlie was going to die doesn't mean that Hiro couldn't technically have stopped her death. But the real truth is that the future needed to come so that they could end up stopping it. Don't forget what mohindar gave to Hiro before they went back in time. Its the sketch of the last issue of 9th wonders, that was never printed. with the current futur events occurring. And now Hiro has that comic. In order to stop the future they needed to go forward to get the instruction Isaac left them.

Anyone notice the recurring theme of the future not being able to be changed? It seems it really focuses in on destiny, no matter what they do, the ends are always the same, despite any change in the means.
The first time that this was introduced was in that episode with Charlie, where after she was killed by Sylar, Hiro tried to save her by traveling back in time. Thing is, she died anyway due to complications from a brain disease (from what I remember). The exact same thing happened with Future Hiro traveling back in time by saving the cheerleader. Claire was saved, however, in the future, she still died. And finally, the same "destiny can't be changed" thing goes with the bomb, the bomb goes off still despite all attempts to rewire the past in order to prevent the bomb from going off. Just a thought! |

Only mention of the Linderman act that was passed 4 years earlier. Good call on the Sylar shape-shifting scenario, wicked how old boy got his hands on Claire. Last nights episode gave me chills, seeing Peter and Hiro throw down was real comic book stuff. Lets just hope the series actually lasts 5 years so we can see how things "actually" turn out. Nice of the network and all, but my copy is in HD and much higher quality sound. Doesn't look all choppy from the stream. I added it to the play list that will play the whole season if I ask it to and last and certainly not least I am not bothered with all the advertising that comes with a network stream.

****Mild Spoilers**** Parkman was a nub. Mohinder had the courage to aid Hiro, and he doesn't even have super powers! I'm thinking Parkman could have had the ability to read Sylar's mind if the Haitian wasn't around him and discover what was really going on. So, I guess Leif was correct on the painting. I knew Nathan could be ruthless, but he seemed a little overboard in the future. The whole time line shifting because Claire survived was interesting. I'm guessing the future timeline had an immediate change when she survived in the current timeline, thus would explain why future Hiro was not able to kill Sylar around the time of the bomb. Was anything mentioned about what happened to Linderman?
