Vision - Jedi Knight  |
Well as you may know there's this game called SW: The Force Unleashed upcoming. It's console only for now, but there's a thread at LA forums. Yeah i see what you meant Faint and i agree. While JK3 wasn't perfect and overall inferior to JK2, its perhaps primarily due to it not being a polished and completely finished game. However JK3 still contains all the basic joys we have come to associate with the Jedi Knight series and while i am fairly certain this game will not be entirely similar (if at all) it would of been a good template to use... if perfected properly. Not true. Although that's your personal opinion, I believe it's a general consensus that most people prefer JK2 and JK1 over JK3. Don't get me wrong, JK3 is a good game, but JK2 was just amazing. I just hope it's not gonna be a hack n' slash game. It'd be way awesome if they actually released it for the P.C., but it doesn't seem to be happening. Oh well, I'm pretty content with JK3.  |

Theres a few problems I see with this new game, one, LucasArts isn't going to be giving us Dedicated server for Linux support, and probably no editing tools. Its going to be like their previous games they've released in the past two years or so. If it is on PC, it will probably be a console port, which will be a shame.
The only hope of a true Jedi Knight type game is if Raven does it again. Maybe that won't all be true, but thats my two cents based on the development history of LucasArts. Oh and if Raven did it, you can almost guarentee it would be on the Doom 3 engine. From the looks of it, they may release the game on PC, but it'll be totally different from anything in the JK series. Plus, with all of the new cutting edge technology LucasArts is boasting about, some people will find their comps unable to run the game. Pity, really. That's what people said when JK2 was dying and they came out with JK3... look where that got us. Lol. I think the problem with people nowadays is they're not descriptive enough... Amendment: We seriously hope they will bring another JK series game out that is NOT rushed, NOT crap and will actually have decent mechanics that don't conflict with eachother. Don't rush to get it done, if we know it's coming, we'll wait.
