Got this rumor from Wikipedia: Quote: On April 25th, 2007, a rumor came about that BioWare was secretly in development on a Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG. Stemming from the latest issue of EGM, the rumor contained little information to support the claim. However, investigation into the matter reveals that there is more to the rumor than EGM's single suggestion. In early 2006 BioWare opened an Austin branch to develop an unnamed MMORPG. This alone confirmed an inevitable BioWare MMO, but the choice of Richard Vogel as a leader of the project is what largely suggest that the currently unnamed MMO is set in the KOTOR universe. Vogel was one of the project leaders behind the sci-fi MMO Star Wars Galaxies. SWG was held down by being set in a universe where continuity prevented any true story development (such as seen in WoW) and SOE assuming creative control eventually caused the removal of the things that had kept SWG's hardcore fanbase playing among them the skill tree system, which allowed for more customizable characters and drastic changes to the game's combat and character profession selection.
SOE has been confirmed to have lost the Star Wars license, though there has been no confirmation that BioWare will be producing a KotOR MMORPG. This post was edited by Kenyon on Mar 23 2011 05:48pm. |

Lost quite a bit of posts here unfortunately. There's confirmation from a PC Gamer article that space combat in TOR will be more of an on-rails shooter and single-player only at launch. In addition to that, there's a slight reveal of Corellia being in the game from the Gamespot video. The Gamespot video was an addition to the one on the official TOR website. There's an image of sheet music with the title of Corellia Intro. Also, at Comic-Con this year, space combat was revealed to be in the game officially. There will be "hot spots" for space combat, sort of similar to the war zones for PvP. Darth Hater has some nice coverage of Comic-Con. Also, can't forget that Fatal Alliance came out recently. Yeah i like Bastila a lot, BUT actually the 1st kotor i played was TSL, and i really enjoyed it sometime after that i played the 1st Kotor in which the storyline is better.
I don't like TOR just be cause if bastila or any Bastila ofsprings will be on it. its BECAUSE i liked the story of BOTH kotors, Revan and the exile not just cause of Bastila. About the MMO, i played SWG and i liked it, but the idea of making the storyline of the last 2 Kotors into an MMO, well ,i know i haven't read much of the details but i still hate it anyway. Let's see if they give a nice continuation to story instead of just great looking graphics. |

In my view fans WANTED a kotor 3 not a damn MMO, but no... money comes always 1st right? The start story is completely dumb and stupid, "Revan went to the Unknown Regions and was never heard of" It gives a great rage inside me when i see this

Trying to say the fact that YOU wanted a SRPG doesnt speak for the rest of us, myself and millions of others wanted an MMO just as much, and you call yourself Star Wars fan? havent learn truth is all a point a view yet? Go study some obiwan. You have no clue on what the story is leading into this because we havent received much besides the Comic, but so far what we know is Bastila had offspring and shes a jedi, so the story u want will most likely be inside this MMO.(point made specifically due to Ricks obvious Bastila fetish) The problem is most of the ppl who are against it are too damn thick headed to see what Bioware is doing with it to see that it will probably outdo any SRPG that Obsidian could ever put out and also cover mass scale due to its massive budget only given to an MMO. Ya Shan's right...We wanted a kotor 3 where atleast we would get to follow reavan into the unknown regions or something...I mean can you imagine REVAN dying because of some sith punk !?!?!? I gues they're really doing it for the money... Problem is I don't have a credit card lol... i wonder if they gonna fix the lightsaber animations. now they just look like glowing sticks.
no trail effects... some attacks have it and some dont. even if the character is just spinning the sword in the cinematic for fun - it should make the appropiate sound and have a trailed blade. just like in movies/jk2/jk3.. even lego star wars. also whats that shiny saber light on the place where blade comes out from the hilt? and the existing trail effects? they arent good :| what im trying to say that currently it just looks like a glowing sword that sometimes has the real lightsaber effects added to it. even some skills would look perfectly fine on a simple sword in some asian anime mmo. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Saw that earlier today, the game is looking very promising so far, the voices will be a very nice touch.
