My view on Maul vs Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon

Allright... I've said this before on Ravens forums, but let me repeat myself:

"Here's the deal: Maul was a pure concentration of evil! Qui-Gon was a believer of the Living Force, meaning that he didnt forsee things as others did, but acted on incredible instincts! That is a disadvantage in a fight with a Sith, especially with Maul who was a very fast and agile fighter.

Quote:
Like Maul didnt have enough time to slice his ass!!!! give me a break!!!!! Obi Wan should have been owned right there!!!!

Well, when Obi-Wan attacked him right after Qui-Gon was struck down, he was furious, and he called upon the Dark Side of the Force! Maul, being pure evil, could forsee his actions and then pushed him down the shaft. While Obi-Wan hang there, he realized that the Dark Side wasn't going to help him, so he calmed his mind (like Qui-Gon before his fight with Maul) and let the Light Side of the Force guide him! Maul could NOT forsee his actions when Obi was using the Light Side and was paralyzed of amazment, allowing Obi to slice him in half!"

Just my view on the story, and also starwars.com's view!!!:)

Off topic, I know, but is Dooku stronger than Maul?

yes, I agree with Tito. but the force guides a person. I agree that Maul could see the moves of his opponent, but the force guides a person, so Even if Obi-1 calmed his mind, Maul could have known that Obi-1 was making that move, and blokked it, he was lacking in that. that is what I think of it.

(but I am not happy with Qui-Gon's death!)

Tito your theory makes it sound like the only way a Jedi can match a Sith is if they touch the darkside. And a Sith can't sense what a Jedi is about to when a Jedi is calm. A Jedi can get pissed he can get angry he can get upset. Problems only come about when they use those emotions in control of their Force. What I think is something totally different. The council wanted Obi Wan and Qui Gon to unravel the mystery of the Sith. They were probably hoping to defeat Maul and not kill him if it was at all possible. Once Qui Gon was killed that option obviously went out the window.

Anyone notice, right before Qui Gons death, Maul and Qui Gons glance at each other?
Qui Gon forsees his own death but Maul just looks puzzled.

I still say that Obi was lucky...

All I know is that Maul was probably one of the best fighters ever, you must remember how much skill and concentration it takes to use a doublebladed saber.
