I'm in a project mood, so i'm working on a many worlds project in my black periods w/o internet (at my old dial up house we moved again and planning to move another time soon so we aren't bothering hooking up a home phone, but i guess high-speed makes up for it here...). I was watching TV, the days going by like a slug trying to win a hundred meter dash, and i decided to start doing something. The Many Worlds project.
//overview The project is starting up where Sith-J-Cull left off with his JKA galaxies project, although i'm not adding a mod cuz i can't code C or C++. I'm working on the maps atm, and soon a world switcher script for more of an RP experience. //The Script The script will allow somebody to go from one server to another (loading time is the hyperspace travel time) via the press of a few buttons. The reason for a few buttons is a. to switch between world selections b. to select to go to a world and c. to confirm in incase you didn't want to go there. //The Maps I'm designing the maps individually, each one representing a world. Each will have its attributes, pros, and cons. The planets are as follows: -Bespin [A very highly used planet for maps, this will be a genaric bespin map. It will be a market planet for sales of common weapons. I will only give 1 pro and 1 con. Pro= Low crime (as in NPCs that will spawn and "jump" you) Con= High prices (Typical of a market world wanting to get all the credits, prices will be high (only in affect when using lugormod or something)) ] -Yavin [The training ground for the new jedi order, it will be home of some items and ships you can't get anywhere else. Pro= Training pads to duel other players, and npcs with different difficulty levels taht will practice with you. Con= Many diseases and plauges scour the planet's wilderness, so getting a disease is highly likely.] -Tatooine [A desert planet, tatooine will be your #1 source of bounty hunters, smugglers, and the lowlifes that will try to kill you. Pro= Place and collect bounties, hire smugglers to transport items to places if they are contraband. Con= You'll have TONES of lowlifes trying to pickpocket you, kill you, or torture you. Its good to keep weapons in evidence.] -Manann [A ocean planet, you will not arrive at a spaceport but a hangar bay. Ohto City will be home to the strange selkath. A neutral ground, it is a great place to set up a life and live. All with guns or active lightsabers WILL be shot. Pro=No death allowed, killing or even showing a weapon thats active will result in your death. Con= High price for being there. Every exit/entrance to ahto city will cost you. SPOILER ALERT I WILL include an underwater facility that is NOT a neutral ground, as in the selkath have no clue its there. Watch your step there, for many enemies await in the water and intruders will be shot, so you would do well to get a passport before entering.] Well, I hope you all will enjoy it when its finally done. It WILL take a LOOONG time because i want good detail on the maps and its really hard for me to line up walls properly on Radiant 1.5... -TheDestroyer UPDATE: Okay, i'm working on transfering my little organizational text document over here, but till then, i'll just say production has STOPPED due to a bug preventing beta testing. SV_SetBrushModel: NULL is the bug every time I load the map. other maps work. if you know how to help, plz tell and i'll get back to work. Update 8/16/07: Fixed SV_SetBrushModel: NULL error and a new one popped up  . Map has no nodes. I got no clue what nodes are cuz i'm an ameture. But I DID get a good o'l progress report ready.

Whats gunna be on there update: I'm going to put extra time in after each map and set up the in-game entites for a few quests. I will include Lugormod-U# (latest version at time of packing) and the entities for quests. With lugormod you can build in game, but anyone who just puts it in and doesn't take lessons won't be able to do jack. Not to be an ass, but if I saw these screenshots on a site like jk3files.com I wouldn't download it, because it lacks detail. It doesn't lack fine details, but detail in general. I have never seen a room in the real world, in a movie or in a video game, that looks like that. It's square, and bland. You really need to dress it up. |

You know... it might be a half-decent idea to at least disable access to the forum installer until you have it set up. Just a suggestion.
Also, some of those textures in your map look suspiciously familiar... are you sure you have the necessary rights to reproduce those and use them for your own purposes? _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. |

Got some pics in there, I wanna move it all to a brand spankin' new forum... without all those good fo' nuthing spam bots. but that'll happen at a later time. I'll be off the net for another week or so due to one house having internet and one not (for now).
More to come latah, this is the results after 3 restarts (fixed like a million bugs by doing that :eek
