Help with something in SP | |

One of the things I loved about Jedi Outcast was the Realistic Combat cheat which caused the lightsaber to become a one-hit-kill weapon that severed anything it touched, problem is, I can't figure out how to activate it in Jedi Academy. I have looked online and know I am using the right code (unless it is not g_saberrealisticcombat #), and I am enabling codes properly with devmapall or helpusobi 1. Is there something I am missing? Or does the code simply not work in Jedi Academy? _______________ Pity the Insomniac Dyslexic Agnostic, for he stays up all night wondering if there is really a dog. |

Just heed the words of "SomeguyAKAsaber" in this post: http://forums.filefront.com/sw-jk3-problems-errors-help/184797-patch-gets-rid-g_saberrealisticcombat.html.
Just forget about the devmap comment. The problem is, each time you start a new sp campaign, g_sabermorerealistic will be reset to zero in the jaconfig.cfg, so you'll have to proceed like this: Start a sp campaign, save immediately after the intro cinematics are done, quit the game, delete the g_sabermorerelasitic lines out of jaconfig.cfg (you'll want to use WordPad instead of NotePad because latter does not display the line breaks correctly), create an autoexec.cfg as indicated in the mentioned post (i.e. containing the two lines seta helpusobi "1" seta g_sabermorerealistic "20" ), launch the game, load the saved game, and voilĂ , dismemberment galore! If you wonder why it's so complicated, Raven has made g_sabermorerealistic write protected. But to be honest, I myself don't want the saber to dismember or do any damage unless I explicitly do an attack. If you want to have dismemberment only while attacking, you shouldn't use g_sabermorerealistic, but instead max up g_dismemberment (I don't really know what the range is, some say 0-3, others 0-5, others 0-99; I guess with 99 you should be alright; 5 was enough for me). Now the instant kill thing is a bit trickier. If you really want it (I don't 'cause it makes the game easier than it is already; playing with 50 health and 0 armor (like in jedi master setting without picking up any shields) gives at least the enemies' sabers some of the instant kill feeling, which is enough for me): With little effort, you could make a mod that increases the damage done by sabers, by adding the line damagescale 1000 to each saber section in the .sab files in asstes1.pk3/ext_data/sabers (BTW, credit for this goes to the author of the "Saber Realism" mod).
