Aight. I'm moving.
Bolton (UK) no longer has a decent living person in it. (Present company accepted of course) I've lived here all my life, and not once have I had my wallet effectively stolen. Until a couple of days ago. I had caught the merry old bus system to my local town. I clambered off the bus, and within several minutes i realise my wallet is still travelling at an average speed of 2 mph faster than me. "Oh crapping, twollocking, twassok-fush!" I think to myself. (Or something to that extent) Fortunately enough, this particular bus has one more stop, and then it drops off at the bus station. We try to cut it off at the station before it, or the driver, leaves again. We catch the rather comatose-like man and discover that no-one had handed anything to him and after a thorough rummaging through the bus I returned empty handed with a tear or two in my eyes. The guy takes sympathy and hands me a pad and paper and tells me to write my name and number down which I do. He says if he gets it, he will phone me. Aye.. So.. Effectively, im stuck in town with a dead phone, a very big lump missing in my pocket and about to burst into tears and/or smash something up. The money was not what bothered me.. But the wallet itself has so much in it. Bits and bobs from my past, memorabhilia etc. If not for my closest friends generosity, care and understanding. I may very well have had to walk back home.. (Yes.. The bus ticket was also in my wallet.) The wallet itself could not have been on the bus more than 5 minutes. Someone would have just seen a wallet and gone. "Yoink, that'll buy me a good maccy d's or two that will". ... It was meant for Subway, and to pay for the train fair to Lancaster Uni. On a lighter note.. My bank is issuing me a new card, the NI people are trying to literally spank me silly, a new Driving license will cost a bit of dough, and i'm sure there will be much more grief ahead for me. Was an expensive wallet too. 
Lesson to be learned? Buses do Indeed suck. I've been hating them for a good four years now. Talking of losing things on the bus I found a wallet and set of keys on my local bus not long ago, but I handed them into the driver. Sucks mate.. know the feeling.
When we were in the process of moving a while ago, we had our van piled up. We get a call from a neighbor saying there was a series of break ins around the area. We go outside, look at the van to see all the doors open, one window smashed. Missing was my skateboard, cellphone, loads of clothing, some books, and a few other things I can't remember right now. Some of the things had sentimental value to us, it sucked. D: |

Heh, I left my jacket at work for about 5 months. I went to get my girlfriends coat one day after work and I picked up this jacket and came outside going "Who on EARTH does this thing belong to? It's been here for ag....."

Sorry to hear that Mic, nothing similar has (yet) happened to me, but I can imagine it's not a pleasant experience.

i lost my wallet once a couple years back on the bus and thought it was gone forever. but a few weeks later someone posted my bus/train passes/id back to me. lost the money and the bankcards but it was something.
anyway lesson learned - i now carry a piece o' crap you wouldn't even call a wallet that holds all my cards. my money is kept separately in a little purse thingo my dad bought for me which i keep in my bag. so now the card holder, phone and mp3 player are ALWAYS on me when i'm outta the house. but yea bad luck man, i definitely remember how pissed i was when i lost mine. _______________ Brother to Luke Skywalker and (SKX) Dark Blade

Sucks to hear man. These days I always check my pockets for my wallet, phone and keys when I enter/leave the bus or train just to make sure. |

Awww man, sorry to hear about that.
I can't count how many times I've left my wallet on the bus (Always empty and a cheapo wallet) but its always returned to me .
I always check my pockets a few stops before I get off  .

Thanks for the comments guys/dolls. New wallet is on the way, replacement card arrived the day after and I'm gonna write a note inside.
It will read something like "You can keep the money as a reward for finding this wallet. i also wear normal pants.... i bet those hardcore rappers with their sack-type pants will either lose their belongings because clothes dont hold their things well or someone will use that to their advantage and just steal that precious wallet. sad to hear these news though , mic. That happened to me once but I was lucky that the one that found it didn't take it for themself and gave it to the driver. Worst experience ever stepping out of the bus and immediately realising there's a wallet left on a seat and the friggin bus is moving!!.
Now I check my pockets all the time and only have the necessary things in my wallet. |

Sorry to hear about that Mic. I once lost my cell phone at a transit stop or on the transit itself. I was pretty sure someone took the phone for themselves as well. Had some Star Wars ring tones I composed on it heh. Nothing like what happened to you, but there will always be people like that out there unfortunately.
