Quigon.... 65 year old man in episode 1...
While he was fighting maul before he became one with the Force you could see it in his eyes,he knew he would Die Quigon was tiring maul for obi wan,Obiwan wasnt using any Dark side of the Force,he was mad angry,upset,tired and sad he then reached inside of himself and felt the Force flow through him,it guided him and he defeated his enemy. Sith are for themselves always wanting to be powerful and take control of everything,even kill their own master to be more powerful,always thinking their stronger.Darth maul sith lord...yes powerfull he was hard it is to use the double bladed Light saber but thinking he was all high and mighty...Taunting obiwan in the shaft...Thats a siths weakness! thats why Maul lost,Dark jedi and sith,always wanting to be powerful thinking they are high and mighty...thats why the sith went exstinct,fighting against eachother for the sake of power. "Is the dark side stronger?-Luke skywalker "No,the Dark side is never stronger..."-Yoda,jedi master for 900 years Remember what a wise jedi master once said... "Fear leads to anger,anger leads to hate,hate leads to suffering...The Dark side are they..." Obi-wan Kenobi Great Jedi Master and General in the Clone wars once told luke and i will never forget... I think that maybe my statement about Qui-Gons death were wrong, but my statement about Obi-Wan was correct! I think that right before the fight between Maul and Qui-Gon alone (where Qui-Gon was concentrating on the coming fight), that Qui-Gon saw his death while Maul just looked puzzled! He then fought again as he was confident in Obi-Wan being able to defeat Maul by concentrating on his actions, and also to wear him down! Obi-Wan of course got furious and called upon the Dark Side of the Force, and failed to concentrate, leaving Maul with the oppertunity(sp?) to push him down the shaft! While hanging there, he focused (maybe got a signal from Qui-Gon?) and was able to surprise Maul who was stunned by his quick attack!!! _______________ Not back yet... I'll come one day, I hope... The madman formerly (and still) known as Tito! Mmmmm..... check the Star Wars books Plo, Obi-1 used the dark side, tells the book. And there is no question who is right then, but that off the record. Qui-Gon had probably forseen his death, but he had to tell Obi-1 that he had to train the boy(ani of cource). He fought becouse he beliefed the boy would bring balance in the Force. So he prob. used the Force to stay alive.
Fighting Maul alone was a brave desiision and a very strong believe that his apprentice would defeat Maul. Maul did not thought that Obi-1 would jump up and kill him, Becouse, as you say, he thought he already won. His training was concentrated on the fighting and the things around it were a bit niglected(I write that right???). As for the proof Sidious took upon Dooku as his aprentice, he would not make that mistake again. Now he had a fully trained Jedi, who was willing to embrace the Dark Side.
