I like SW better, but Trek is cool too, particularly TNG. I haven't watched it in a while, since the X and I used to watch it 2gether all the time. Still a bit of a sore spot.:(

Sorry guys but I didn't mean to set loose a huge and violant discussion between Trekkies and Star Wars fans. I'm both and Tolkien fan (see my profile pic ;)

This is just a way for me to recruit crewmembers :)

I've recovered from my wounds to beable to comment here.:P

To honest I see Star Wars and Star Trek as different genres. SW is more like sci-fi fantasy, while ST is straight out classic sci-fi.
Classic sci-fi (i can't think of a beter term than 'classic' right now) or at least any that is worthwhile examines issues or philosophical ideas that are beng debated in the real world. For example, Kirk and Uhura's lip locking in STOS or the episode of TNG where Data is claimed by Starfleet as 'property' and Picard has to defend his right to self-automony in a hearing designed to work if data is truely alive. Actually I think that particular episode is some of the best sci-fi I've ever seen or read.

SW is a different beast altogether. If it does have any relevance to real life then it's extemely tenuous. Like those people that say Lord of the Rings is really about WW1, err ... ok it might be but if you want to watch something about the horror of war then go watch The Thin Red Line or The Deer Hunter or something.

I just find SW and ST to be completely different things and trying to compare them or to say that one is better than the other is futile. :P

Could a star destroyer take on the Enterprise? Hmmm ... it depends on who was driving what.:D

EDIT: Can't they just come up with some new bad ass villans, DJ? moan:)

Oh god. It's Star Wars vs Star Trek. :P

I'm a big trek fan, I have good rips of all the episodes of Enterprise right now. Granted it's not as good as TNG or later DS9, but its entertainment.. that and theres hot hot hottie vulcan chicks and gel showers. :) I hear Rick Berman wants to bring the freaking BORG into the series. Jeezum Crow! That guy needs to get bitch slapped with a with the business end of a rake.

Personally I like star trek. Good tv shows, decent movies some of the time. Very different from Star Wars. I am however not interested in e-mail rpg's Star Trek Star Wars or otherwise. I also don't believe that Any incarnation of the Enterprise would stand a chance against a Mon Cal Starcruiser let alone an Imperial Star Destroyer based simply on size. TIE Fighters may be gnats even to the Enterprise, but even a swarm of gnats can send larger animals over cliffs. Then just add in the shear number of turbo laser batteries compared to the maybe four or 5 total weapons systems on the Enterprise.

Hmmm, this is probably the worst place you could post something encouraging star trek :) No offence but I think all you trekkies should be put out of you misery and sabered.

*sits with disruptor rifle in a bush, waiting for more trek fans to take the bait*
