Hey everyone, was hoping someone could help me with a problem I have been having since I reinstalled jka after a reformat. When I play the game, the actual model and the saber are normal but the map textures are all rainbow colored.
I have all the latest directx and nvidia drivers for my geforce 7900 GT card and use windows xp. I ran the system check for jka and all was passed. I have also tried a number of different video settings ingame as well as when I click the driver info button it does show the correct card. In addition, my fps ingame is also fine, it is just the textures having problems. I have played dod source since reformatting and that game had no issues. well this is an old topic but i think i might have found something that may help, this console code:
R_ambientscale 9999999 -Sweet cheat! Rainbow colored, color changing NPCs, characters, and some world objects. Type a smaller number for less color change. Too bad you can't do this with your lightsaber. Remember, that's seven nines you must enter. the effect sounds similar to your problem so if you type R_ambientscale 0- you may reverse it, worth a try anyway  _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. wow that sure is pretty, well you have checked the textures in the base folder right, hmm maybe this is something to do with console, have you played around with that lately?
if the textures are in the base folder and don't look like that then i can only see two explanations. either there is some psychedelic filter over them in the game, or the game is unable to find the textures so it loads something else. either way this should not be happening. if i find any commands to change it to psychedelic mode ill tell you, sorry i couldn't help _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. hmm. im not sure about that. did you try reinstalling it again? is there any problems in the game folder? anyway, this may be an anoying problem but it dosent look like it affects your gameplay too much, if you can just accept it, the game still works right? just think of it as a colourfull place to fight
still check the game folder. hope you find a soloution!

already have glow off, and ya I did dl the latest drivers after formatting, is there anyway of getting an older driver to see if that changes anything? |

By chance, do you have movie battles installed? If not, off the bat all I can think of is r_dynamicglow 0 or a conflicting pk3.
Do you install new GFX drivers after formatting? I've noticed opengl games aren't great with the new nvidia drivers. _______________ "Deos fortioribus adesse." |

just an update for anyone reading this, I have also now tried reinstalling the whole game as well as reinstalling my gfx drivers and also replacing my jampconfig with another players. |

i've had similar problems before, not sure how i fixed it. anybody got any ideas? |
