Kicking | |

Well, I recently got broadband - February to be exact. So I finally had the chance to play Academy online. I enroll in some classes and then end up missing my very first because of the temperamental nature of wireless broadband. So when I do get round to getting to a class (Beginner TFF on the Europe server), within 30 seconds I find myself kicked, with no ready explaination as to why. I rejoin the server to take part in the class and am threatened with being kicked... for apparently being on the wrong colour team. Now call me a n00b if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that you got kicked if you broke the rules of the server, so in this case those would be the Academy rules. I know that I did not break any of the rules - 30 seconds is too short a time to do anything wrong in. Well less that 30 seconds since it takes about that to set up a vote. So maybe someone can explain to me why this happened? I can appreciate that maybe the first kicking could have been a mistake, but being threatened when I got back of the server? I don't think that's on.
Has anyone else been subject to this or am I alone in this injustice? _______________ Training began: December 2003 Left the Order: October 2008 Returned: November 2009 |

I am similaly disturbed by this, please could you add me to msn so that we could discuss exactly what happened so we can get a full account of what took place. I'm really sorry for your experiance and i hope you face no similar occurances here at the JA, especially having waiting so long and patiently to take part.

I understand your frustration and I want you to know I will cooperate with you in getting to the bottom of this as 30 seconds IS too short a time to something wrong, be warned about it, and repeat the action.
That said, I want to also stress something: When you're in a class, the instructor has liberty to set forth extra guidelines and rules that they would like you to follow (WITHIN REASON). If you do not go along with these, it is the same thing as if you broke the academy rules and the same action can be used to enforce them It is entirely possible that the instructor felt by being on the wrong color team, or even by joining in game and not staying in spectator mode, you were disrupting the flow of the class. Again, I understand your frustration with the situation, but there are more constructive ways to handle it than getting upset right away. Probably the best way would be to contact a JAK+, such as myself, on IRC or MSN so that they can get to the bottom of the situation. Remember, every story has two sides - Fullmetal _______________ |
